I worked as a Frank Church re-electiom door knocker, volunteer. My family was Republican, but as many other farmers, it wasn't the party, it was the man. He helped who needed help, which many times bucking the Dem bureaucrats. Just from personal experience learning, the authors are wrong about Idahoans. We were/are much more independent than voting on party lines.
I find it interesting that the authors are surprised by Church's reelection and the lack of Democrat subsequent elections in Idaho. I'm not a Democrat and I would have voted for him. Imo it says more about the direction of the democrat party than anything.
51:00 excellent analysis of the political evolution in Idahio. I witnessed it all. It was indeed the so-called "Reagan revolution" that shifted Idaho politics and shafted Sen. Frank Church. Idaho was actually a VERY progressive state for many many years; an early ratifier of women's rights (second or third state to do so, I think), pro-Union, pro-Labor, first practicing Jew elected to governorship -- Moses Alexander 1914 known for his progressivism -- and so on.
The Church did excellent work, and uncovered quite a bit.. But they never connected any of these dark entities on high down Lee Oswald or the crimes committed that day.. I think it’s important to understand this.. That there’s nothing there that isn’t derived from innuendo and conjecture, and leaps of faith..
Sounds like Carter didn’t really want 4 more years of the hell of being President lol…. people still voting and he’s like “yep, I lost, too bad, see ya when I see ya….!!!” 😂
Mr. Frank Church was a good and courageous man.
Very educational...Thank you
Refreshing. To point to an honest man within the ' beltway today. There were a few. Frank Church is a very interesting fellow.
President Ford was a significant player in the Warren Commission coverup of the JFK assassination.
Please do not forget Daniel Ellsberg.

Interesting
My first vote was for Church in the 1976 presidential primary.
MK-ULTRA - Jolly West.

If Church had just mentioned Nelson and David Rockefeller just once, I'd agree. But he never did. Smh
The longest introduction I’ve ever heard
Oliver Stone’s JFK movie did a lot to get documents released in the 90’s… I don’t see how it has anything to do with the Church Committee
Certain things should remain secret. Like the MK-ULTRA program?
Church
