I went for garda training... They failed me because.... I couldn't lie well enough... My ability to slither and twist the truth lacked in inhumaty I just couldn't be the robot they were lookin for... We all know the one... Stop someone for something that's not true... One thing... That in ten minutes flat turns into ten charges... But don't worry your not going to prison.. And that's grand now on your way....nd yeah you've got 28 days to pay and if you don't we'll get more out of you.... No matter what your real life economical position might be.... And the only reason they had a bit of a tough time here in the 19th and early twentieth centuries had less to do with them being Irish and more to do with the fact that they were Catholics (the US was a deeply Protestant nation back then). Also, many of the Irish immigrants coming to America back then had criminal backgrounds. Obviously, that is a much different story today. Ireland belongs to Irish people. Europe belongs to Europeans. The reason Europeans assimilate so easily in America is because the US is a European diaspora country; it’s essentially an extension of Europe. So we welcome Europeans here.
