Waller’s lead vocals was a very familiar sound around the old home place for me growing up and I became as big a fan as my dear Papa.I’ve always felt like Charlie never ever got the recognition he deserved for his voice nor did the group.
You might be right ...but l'm a french lady of 67, love bluegrass music since my guitar teacher when I was 14 made me listen to the Country gentlemen records I just loved " letter to Tom "and ""long black veil" among others and Charly Waller's voice of course So it might be the first record I found and bought in France Just to tell you about the " little" recognition you write about..it happened in France ! Then the Seldom scene became my next favorite band... Sorry for my poor english
Great work Gentlemen, your version is the classic, of this popular song. Charlie's voice has a magical quality. From Albert the Australian.
Magical voice. One of a kind
No one can sing like Charlie! The best
