We just so happen to have a 2021 Infiniti QX80 at our HQ, so we see just how well the plush luxury SUV can get its hands dirty towing 5,000 pounds.

    Of course it will... v8 full frame SUV. I used to tow 10000 lbs with my father's 98 Lincoln Navigator with only 230 horse. never skipped a beat.

    The QX80 is extremely popular here in Houston and I imagine Texas in general. They’re a dime a dozen in the ritzy neighborhoods.

    Could use a simple bungee strap to prevent those from flopping around so much. Also consider a wheel or tire strap instead to reduce the risk of suspension bouncing your tie straps off.

    I always thought that you should tie off on the suspension rather than the machine. The movement of the machine could loosen and tug on the straps rather than the suspension that will not move.

      If ratch it down tight enough you should be able to fully compressor the suspension

    If you think spraying off a vehicle is "cleaning" it, then you don't really have OCD.

    50 seconds in and I had to cringe, get those straps on the inside of the rub rail or that CDL adventure will be for not sir😉 good video once again everyone!!!

    You can't move ratchet near the end of strap instead of in the middle?

    The fact USA doesn't use amber light for turn light make it WORST on trailering. Using the same module for running light, brake & turn is not only confusing but dangerous. I never understood why NHTSA doesn't change that.

    • @badgerpa9
      @badgerpa9 3 роки тому +4

      It is not confusing if it is bright they are braking, since no one uses blinkers you don't need to worry about that. If you see a red light it is the back of the vehicle, if you see amber it is the front and coming towards you, not hard to figure out.

      Armada designers were so lazy to differ the vehicle from the QX80. Very poor design team to create both vehicles basically the same exact way. Yes I know both vehicles are made by Nissan. But the designers sucks on the Armada's part making the vehicle interior and exterior basically the same exact thing with different price tags.

    Shut up about the damn straps Roman, they work fine and they are a genius solution to a simple annoying problem. Plus, Andre literally told you how to fix the flopping an easy way 💁🏻‍♂️

    These straps are a cool idea and might be good for someone who uses them occasionally but for everyday use get some good Erickson's or something and just deal with the excess strap

      As long as they're not hitting anything, I can't see any way the straps bouncing like that are going to shorten their life any more. There's no additional rubbing or friction and it's just varying the tension in the strap slightly similar to how it varies as the load that's restrained accelerates, stops and bounces.

    Speaking of older trucks towing vrs latest trucks... i looked into the numbers of a later 2nd gen Ram 3500 drw truck, best towing capabilities i found listed it as a max of 13,600lbs. Crazy compared to 37,000 of new trucks.

    You guys need some work on securing loads. Those are way too small for that load and loosen when the suspension of the ATV bounces.

    I don't like this kind of trailer braking system... There in Italy we use a more effective system: in the trailer's towbar there's a piston connected with trailer's brake cables. When the car hit the brakes, the inertia push the trailer forward, compressing this piston, wich pull the cables connected with trailer's brakes, and it start the braking action. When the car start to pull again, the piston it's extending, releasing progressively the brakes. Way easy and effective than a electronic system like that, because it's purely mechanical system.
