we have a clear winner! The Vita's screen shows the color is more saturated and truer to source, and there's no wavering effect as seen on PSP. This makes for a great sales pitch

I think that (both) have to do with the fact that the Vita uses an OLED screen. As far as I know, since the LED's directly emit light there are practically zero issues with viewing angle, and the darker a color the less light each pixel is emitting (OLED screens measure 0 brightness when displaying black) so you get that better color saturation. I am way too excited to watch movies on this thing.
@Hannibp , I understand what you're saying but I don't think what you're explaining is exactly a flaw, take a look at the PSP3000 for instance, when you set the screen to "wide", it gives everything this slightly golden hue (I think) which makes images more radiant and better than the original, this might not give you the same visuals as TV for a movie, but it gives you a PSP exclusive experience, I believe it's the same for Vita.

PSP can play up to 360p mp4, but it's okay because of the small resolution screen
PSVita can play up to 720p mp4, and higher resolution video on a higher resolution screen is much better
@Takinub I see, but you have to consider the PS Vita is better, because it is a LED screen after all. The colors are just more decent
@ArturoRdz Thats exactly what my dad said yesterday. He said you know a device is advanced with sleek design when it can be released for almost a decade and still not become obsolete.

@Takinub Final Fantasy X remake, and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep are heading to PS Vita and more RPG. Probably FF7, cuz the prequel came out for PSP (just a guess). But yeah I already named 2.
set your psp to "wide" visual on the settings...
so the screen dimensions are almost the same :)

@naijaboygangsta Actually, that also applies to their TVs and PC screens, their Laptops and every device they produce. Sony does that, because OLED got too expensive for them. Now they come up with a new technology called Crystal LED. Do you know more about that?

I can't imagine anyone wanting my psp, the UMD drive doesn't work, lots of scratches and I don't even have the analog nub stick anymore.

@LG141602 so far it can't play mkv unfortunately. I think they would get more sales if they did, currently you need to mux them into mp4 and hard code any subs :/

@ferrjimenez Of course. I am not disputing obvious facts like resolution quality. It's just when you put all these factors into mind, you would feel like the device is too expensive, especially when there is no big RPG title coming.
psp 1000 vs ps vita

psvita is much better.. faster more advanced and many new functions.. also much better screen so it more clear.. if i can afford it i will buy a psvita..

Of course the screen quality is better. We're taking a shitty slow response LCD, vs a OLED screen.......... PSP still has the best game library and emulators though........Vita can't touch that.

@ferrjimenez I have a PSP and the same Evangelion movie; they look a lot better in my screen. There is something messed up with this guy's screen; it's not clean.
