I actually have a glass cookie jar with a lid that my husband and I have never used so I took that and bought some multi colored gems and put my makeup brushes in that so dust particles won’t get all over them when not in use!! It looks really nice as well!!
That is a great idea! I used to love having everything out and on display... But then I went on vacation and the dust settled...oh my did it... On EVERYTHING...So now I am revamping to use more closed storage and I am totally using your idea. TFS

Cover your vanity table with a piece of glass. That way, with some antibacterial vinegar Windex, you can give your vanity and everything on it a quick good clean weekly.

I just stumbled across your video and I'm so glad that I did. I have a business card holder exactly like the one you've shown. I thought it might hold some of my lip glosses but that didn't work out. I never thought to use it for single or small quad eye shadows. What a brilliant idea! Thank you so much for sharing. I also have the same IKEA setup and I'm absolutely obsessed with it! Let me add: Perfume bottles in a classy wine or champagne box. I use a box of Cristal Brut and it looks pretty and organized ;)
I’m revisiting to report back! I ordered a set of white “Lacey” office storage pieces from Amazon: file holder (for palettes, pencil cup for lip liners, can’t remember third piece! Lol then I got a silver mesh piece with several round sections for mascaras, eye liners, etc. I had a BUNCH of cream eyeshadow from Revlon, Elf, and Charlotte Tilbury. They took up SO MUCH SPACE! And my lipsticks! Ordered 2 bead organizers from FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN and deported all! The pieces I got are about 6x6 with 30 or so individual pots with screw on tops. If I want to take a lipstick with me I just take the little pot! The SPACE this saved is too darn amazing!!!! Wish I could send photos!!!!! Just be sure to get the right size pots or the makeup won’t fit! I’ll tell you if you want to know. I also have so many brushes: 30 or so. I use the same 6-8 ONLY! Donating test to young people in need. AND: I have found INE cream that is day and night moisturizer!!!! Works under eyes, too! Use on neck and chest!!! EMBRYOLISSE CREME CONCENTRE!! (AMAZON) going to use up other stuff and pare down!!! THANKS for getting me started! Oh! Amazon doesn’t have the nail polish shelves anymore. I got rid of all but 6 polishes as Im treating myself to mania and pedis. I’m 72! WHY NOT?????? Lolol

I use fire mountain gems...but I have never heard of that one...and if you haven't donated your brushes yet.. Look at a dress for success type program that helps women look great for job interviews and such..usually women coming out of bad circumstances... Abusive relationships..homelessness.. And much more...or a Cinderella program for low income kids to go to prom... Or both...

I have a gazillion makeup brushes. I store mine in one of those big wooden compartmentalized pencil holders that rotates (like a "lazy susan"). They always have tons of pretty ones in various colors at TJMaxx. I use a smaller decorative glass cup with tiny stones in the bottom to keep my most used brushes I reach for daily. You can also use coffee beans in the bottom if you want a coffee scent.

This was one of theeee best storage solution videos I have seen on youtube. I love the idea of using the candle jars for perfume samples for guests (or even me). I also was deciding between how to store lipsticks and lip pencils. I might try what you suggested rather then spending a ton on a lipstick turntable thing. Thank you.

Its cause theyre sample sized. You get them free everywhere all you have to do is ask. She must like perfume a lot. But I dont like to keep them together opening that jar would give me a headache 🤐

cstone412cs I did this years ago with perfume samples. Then.... my granddaughter came along! Lolol they’re all gone now! Lolol its a very classy thing to do. I grew up in Boston. I’m 72. When Inwas little the women’s restrooms had perfumes, combs, brushes, attendants! THAT was class!🌹

Good ideas! I have an over-the-door shoe storage bag with mesh pockets over the back of the bathroom door to store face cloths, hand towels, curling iron and hair brushes; my sister uses the same for her makeup. I have some makeup in ceramic cups on the counter, some in makeuo bags on the counter and less used in makeuo bags in plastic rolling drawers from Walmart. This includes hair accessories like twisties, sports headbands and whatever else! Good to try ideas to find what works best for you!

I’ve literally never seen so much makeup for one person, it seemed never ending, especially when you said you’d just switch out the palettes because you have too many! Particularly love the nail varnish collection! Wow!
