GREAT VIDEO ...to REMIND SOPRANOS and all SINGERS...tha tthe CHEST voice ..well-developed...like YOURS ...IS beautiful and IS the FOUNDATION of all SINGING even the HIGH NOTES...too many singers in opera or classical music THE LAST 40-50 years..HAVE NO genuine full tones because of the NEGLECT OF THE CHEST VOICE..you HAVE BRILLIANTLY proven ...why the OLD SCHOOL SINGERS UP TO 1970S were SINGING CORRECTLY powerfully. richly and TRULY
Thank you so much for your very kind comment! Yes you’re right, the chest voice is an important part of the voice. The Old School Singers are a great inspiration for me. Many warm greetings/ Maria 💕
Guys, just listen to Cecilia Bartoli sing it and intimate her. Your pronunciation will be perfect. If you follow this video your pronunciation will be good. I learned it that way and it only took 1 week to sing near perfectly. You also get the pleasure of Cecilia's beautiful voice.
Thank you dear Maria for this excellent tutorial and great performance of Voi Che Sapete. It has been one of my favourite arias for many years. With warmest greetings, Paul
Thank you! This helped me correct a few things a few days before my audition :) It's also funny to see, as a native French speaker, how anglo-saxon people can struggle with Italian in ways that came naturally to me since the latin root recreates similar rules in both languages. Anyways thanks so much!
Voi che sapete che cosa e amor, Donne, vedete, s'io l'ho nel cor, Donne, vedete, s'io l'ho nel cor. Quello ch'io provo, vi ridiro, E per me nuovo capir nol so. Sento un affetto pien di desir, Ch'ora e diletto, ch'ora e martir. Gelo e poi sento l'alma avvampar, E in un momento torno a gelar. Ricerco un bene fuori di me, Non so chi il tiene, non so cos' e. Sospiro e gemo senza voler, Palpito e tremo senza saper, Non trovo pace notte ne di, Ma pur mi piace languir cosi. Voi, che sapete che cosa e amor Donne, vedete, s'io l'ho nel cor, Donne, vedete, s'io l'ho nel cor, Donne, vedete, s'io l'ho nel cor. English translation: You who know what love is, Women, see whether it's in my heart, Women, see whether it's in my heart. What I am experiencing I will tell you, It is new to me and I do not understand it. I have a feeling full of desire, That now, is both pleasure and suffering. At first frost, then I feel the soul burning, And in a moment I'm freezing again. Seek a blessing outside myself, I do not know how to hold it, I do not know what it is. I sigh and moan without meaning to, Throb and tremble without knowing, I find no peace both night or day, But even still, I like to languish. You who know what love is, Women, see whether it's in my heart, Women, see whether it's in my heart, Women, see whether it's in my heart.
When the letter 'e' is a word, it means "and" and it should be pronounced as an 'e' in Italian or Spanish. I think you pronounced it twice as an 'e' in English.

Hi! This song is meant to be sung in a higher key. This video is just for clarification of the melody and the diction. /Maria
Lleva al menos 3 años cantarlo bien.
Yes, it’s a hard piece to master 😅 Took me like 10 years
Sehr gut.
