Really respect and appreciate your insights in the WorldView and welcome your reading recommendations. As we get closer to PM Modi's visit to US in June, would there be an opportunity to discuss some of the deals in this program? Some background - in Jan 2023 the US Government passed the Defense Budget (Act) that specifically singled out delivering a report on defense partnership with India, with a report to be delivered in 90 days. Subsequently NSA Doval travelled to US and PM Modi's current visit was announced. Since then there have been much rumblings around major G2G agreements in Defense, Science and Technology. WOuld be great to have a forward looking perspective on this.
    Thanks!

Very insightful. Amb. Saran said that it would be a nightmare scenario for India if for the west the Russia challenge gets bigger than the China challenge. We can see that happening slowly firstly with Macron's expectation that China would bring Russia to its senses & now the US foreign policy priorities. One can argue that this won't be a long term scenario but with the conflict in Ukraine leading to a stalemate the question is how long is this long term?

For Europe, sure. Russia challenge is bigger than China challenge because of history.
For USA, No. China challenge is bigger than Russia.
I bet that the US priority will be priority of the west. Americans are showing their credibility in Ukraine. All eastern Europeans trust Americans more than their western Europeans counterparts. Eastern Europeans+Japan+S. Korea+Vietnam+Britain are enough to keep them in line. 75 years, France is trying to be leader of Europe with strategic autonomy. They don't succeed because they don't have credibility. They lost in both world wars. People don't forget that easily. Germany became peace loving country after WW2. They are incapable. America is way ahead in military capability.

Biden's debt talks with Republicans is not only important for US Economy but for the world economy. He had to prioritize the meetings.
