He saved the world twice, and faded from the world like a phantom, you have to wonder in battle mysterious battle he got his suit of armor, and lost his eye.
@@ChromeShade The ONLY theory I've heard of Navi's sudden departure was that Navi had fulfilled her purpose as a fairy, and so was destined to vanish back into the ether and she didn't want Link to see her die.
Strange enough, the Epona Song/ Lon lon Ranch music where Hero's Shade teaches his descendant the Great Spin fits well. Especially when it's Theorized that Link and Malon ended up together. I can see Link training his son how to fight in Lon Lon Ranch while Malon watches them to make sure they don't overdo it.
I would really love to see Link getting to live a bit of a family life, training up a son. My man really deserves it after everything he's gone through. Though I suppose we get to see a whisper of that here with the Hero's Shade, passing on his techniques to his descendant. Given that this game is around 100 years after Ocarina of Time, it would most likely be his great grandson. I like to think that the hero of time ended up happily with Malon as well
I wish they'd bring heros shade back in anticipation of upcoming zelda games they did this poor kid injustice he was an angel poor kid. If nobody knew heros shade Is the same link from ocarina of time and majoras mask he died In battle and no one ever found his body that's why he has leaves growing in his armor
I couldn't agree more. He deserved so much better after saving multiple kingdoms from destruction. He really is a tragic character. Maybe one day, we'll get some closure with his character
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The concept of the previous Link's ghost training the current Link has always been one of the most intriguing parts of this game to me. Like you said, it really is a powerful relationship
That voice break at the end, though! Omy gosh, I'm sobbing! It's like a proud grandfather with his grandson, like Disney's COCO all over again! WAAAAAAHHH!😭😭😭😭😭 And your youthful voice makes it sound like Time died young. Which makes it even MORE sad! My heart!
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and for letting me know how it resonated with you, it means a lot. I definitely get the feeling that the Hero of Time died far younger than he anticipated. He had future plans that he never got to see to fruition, such as training a successor. And given the fact that he has descendants, he most likely left a wife and children behind, which is heartbreaking. Based off of the armor he wears here and the missing eye, it looks like he met his end in battle. He really sacrificed everything for Hyrule, from his childhood, to his dreams, to his very life and a future with his family. Including the spirit of a past hero in this game was such a beautiful opportunity to explore that aspect of his story.
It’s been so long since I played this thing. I really miss it, I want to play it again almost as badly as I want to play Phantom Hourglass again, but my Wii has gone unused, and the sensor bar doesn’t work anymore. Yet, the scenes in this video, all of it… I recently watched a voice dub of majora’s mask, and knowing who this is, let’s just say it all feels shockingly different now. When I played Twilight Princess, and gained new lessons from the heroes shade, I now know that I wasn’t only helping Midna or protecting the land, I was bringing peace to the hero who has gone through far too much a young boy should never have to. Anyway, thank you so much for showing your work on this.
The Hero of Time truly gave everything for his kingdom. He is the epitome of self sacrifice. The game means an incredible amount to me as the first ever Zelda game I played as a child, and the storyline of the Hero's Shade and Link always spoke to me in a way I couldn't explain. Hearing it brought to life so amazingly admittedly made me tear up a little, particularly the final line Link ever hears spoken to him by his predecessor. Thank you.
That's beautiful. Thank you for the compliment and for sharing this wonderful sentiment with me. I'm glad I was able to help bring this storyline to life for you
Bahaha, thank you my friend. It's funny to think about Link being so confused by what the heck these people are talking about telling him to press this or that. Like when Zelda pushed him off of Skyloft and told him to press down on the D-Pad. He'd be like "press what!?" 🤣

Yeah, only a few even make any romantic relationships even make sense. I think the common theory for the Hero of Time is Marrying Malon and becoming a knight who dies in battle before managing to pass on the skills (It does fit really well with TP, a farmer, OOT Link describes TP link as his descendant) Maybe SS, It seems like SS link and Zelda are the founders of Hyrule.
