That's what I thought. Normally it'd be extremely unlikely for them to meet there at the right time but this game has the perfect excuse for random shit like that to happen and make perfect sense with Elio, so...
With the symbolism of her tears growing a huge tree in seconds being a hint, i think it's possible that her exploding a planet and drifting through space are more like artistic interpretations of what's happened in her inner world aswell. Depicting the moment that her hope for an own life began to grow and her old world view was destroyed after seeing the sensless slaughter in the name of a faceless empress (who i wouldn't be surprised doesn't exist and is just a way of manipulation). And The stellaron hunters offering her direction when she was aimless.

That comment was probably about disliking the cold cabin as opposed to the fresh warm air, which might be to keep the soldiers from melting themselves while fighting, not that she needs cold to survive.
