Imagine doing the right thing then going directly to jail for your troubles
Happens every day sadly :(
Happens especially with much money involved
No good turn goes unpunished
They did not go to a real jail, but a breathtaking Villa in Punta Cana.
Omgosh i feel for them - and no way should Justin go for a diplomatic visit. They have a law - as it suits the cartel - that’s it so just stay out of it and far away. God Bless.
Dominican president lost millions from them finding that cargo
Justinder Singh Trudeau probably in on the whole thing as well. Why RCMP or foreign affairs did not do anything
😅I¹11¹111111@@kevins9688
Thank you for pulling that crucial information out of your 🍑
Yup
What makes this even more dangerous is when heads of state are involved. That is very scary. Makes us lose all hope in the goodness of humanity.
Humanity is full of goodness. But, politicians, are not human.
And that’s what the problem is Canada and the DR involved and honestly the pilot should have just left with the drugs and all probably would have been good??
the government is also involved in Canada. Safe supply and decriminalization hasn't done anything other than line the pockets of the gangs selling fentanyl.
@@CowboyUp99 devil and deep blue sea situation........now what does game theory has to say about it?
president clinton was involved in the cocaine trade.
Where's the Canadian gov't in this? Where's that spineless Trudough? He can cry foul against Modi but can't protect its own citizens. They were honest and upfront to report it. Yet Canadians spend tens of millions to visit the island every year.
Trudeau is just a loser! He cares about no one, but just himself!
He’s probably made a fortune on it. No telling how long it’s been going on.
Trust Capital sounds like a play on words. Trust the Capital or Trust Trudeau.
You have no idea what’s behind this. No idea who’s actually telling the truth and who’s lying. You can’t just feel pity for someone without knowing the whole truth.
Tourism is a cover for drug routes. There must be a smuggling route from Canada to US via north border. The handled this with white gloves 👌. Mind you this was 1 charter flight of thousands. The $ being moved in cocaine via the DR has to be at least a 1/3 of GDP.
Something isn't lining up with the lawyer for the Canadians. He doesn't know how they became involved in this flight or anything about who organized the trip. All the people on the flight minus the crew are involved and knew something was up.
Facts . But hey…. They stood together . I commented the same weird he doesn’t know .
The 2 girls no longer wanted to place nice ….. Wanna know what happened …. Trudope payed a terrorist for 10 million after he killed people …. Vick Mander sent a duffel bag of cash. THE END
exactly. and the proud reporters just forgot to elaborate on that "very minor unimportant" issue! =))
Their lawyer is there to protect them, not to find out if they are phony or suspicious…sadly
@@DM-lr5xz thats the only important thing for us to know! we don’t care if they were in on the trafficking scheme or not 😀
W5 doesn't seem trustworthy and I just watch it as entertainment and intellectual excercise. I watched the 2 W5 documentaries on the Canadian grandma who was arrested in Hong Kong for smuggling cocaine from Ethiopia (after being scammed out of 205 thousand CAD), and it was hilarious how they all claimed she did absolutely nothing wrong. While I sympathise with people who are very naive, the news reporters were absurdly one-sided: if the grandma took those drugs to Toronto, she would also end up in jail for months if not years.
Excellent Investigation & reporting W5! 1 of the best iv'e seen.
yeah right, never asking the passengers (e.g. that good looking mom with teenage son left behind) how they happenned to be on that flight, who paid for their flight and vacation, what were they doing in Dominicana... Excellent reporting, you are right!
Are you joking?!

@OfficialW5 The only reason there were let go was bc of all the hard work this team at W5 put in and all the info you guys started to dig up and they didnt wamt u guys digging up any more info on all the players involved. Great job, hope u guys get blessed as much or even more than the blessing u brought these 12!!!
If I were the prime Minister I would put that country off limits.
That's what you get in 3rd world countries
Our PM? Didn’t eve. Help unitl called out . He should be put down He sleep with a minor . Payed her off …. And his wife left him. He’s not fit to RUN MY COUNTRY. Period
The PM was more of brown noser. He has no honor to his people.
What does odd limits mean? Canadians have freedom to travel. I can go to Russia right now if I wanted to
well, dictatorship is not that bad after all?! its called dictatorship &i truly believe in it!
Somebody used that plane and crew as a diversion and they became the fall guys for the traffickers protected by higher ups.....
Yeah, I think you're right.
total bs the passengers were involved -
100% those two women are terrible actresses
@downieduck2414
""total bs the passengers were involved '"
What?? WOW You may have cracked the case! You must work for W5, Oh yes, I think I can clearly see your awesome "open/shut case" logic now!!
Was it Professor Plum with the wrench in the library? Or Miss Scarlett with the candlestick in the study? Yes! cause you know,
* As Canadian Nationals, the passengers would have easy access to an Airport security vehicle they could use anytime they please so;
*So when they liked, they had access to the security camera archives to edit manipulate and erase, (but forgot there was another camera pointed in that direction??
*Anytime they felt like it they could use their obviously all areas access to (international, no less), airport for,
* staging, taxiways adjacent to the RUNWAYS to,
*LOAD UP the aforementioned airport assigned vehicle (Somewhere on we'd have to assume, Airport Property no less), with eight duffies containing just shy of #463 LBS (which is incidentally, enough weight to seriously affect the takeoff, flight, landing, and general handling/response/characteristics of a small aircraft like that. but hey, minor details to a case cracker like you I suppose.
I don't want to steal your thunder but I'm guessing you know who did it!
Obviously I'd like to interview some of them (Some several times) befiore jumping to conclusions but UNLIKE many people these days, I am not ready to throw out factual concrete evidence just because it causes problems in the dramatic flow if the overall investigation
Investigative journalism is one thing but, there is a border that shouldnt be crossed and that is, when the journalism endangers others.
I"M SHOCKED at the arrogant, callous behavior of the W5 people who not only falsely ASSUME authority to demand andswers both personal and case related (non-public) information or, information that will eventually be made public, from the people involved in the case themselves but to completely callously and blatantly disregard the safety among other aspects of the witnesses/victims/passengers even as one or more may end up being linked to the case BUT, to assume they are, and be willing to endanger any or all of them in their effort to gain information they can exploiut ibnto clicks, with no regard to the utter danger they are obviously in because of the dropping dime on the shipment by the pilot/crew. You would think the W5 people might be more concerned with making sire they (passengers/crew) are safe or, AT LEAST AS concerned as they are with getting clicks and manipulating their story for viewership. "Gee I guess it will be kinda dull unless, some of them are targeted for telling on the smugglers"
Wonder why the media in general are so hated these days?
Sad the Canadian government doesn't do anything. RCMP is sitting back watching all this.
@@darrenlewis3199I'm getting that feeling too. They were mules. Follow the money. Their boyfriends. Dig into their lives. Assets. It will show
Ok now watching the video all the way through. Nope passengers were definitely involved..sorry it sucks getting caught. I know first hand. Ive done time. Who paid for the jet? That Sheldon guy is the one. He didn't expect the jet crew to check the cargo bay. Got greedy and tried to haul to much. If there had been 1 or 2 bags. But to pack it completely full like a rat. Those girls were probably with him. Anyway. The world keeps spinning lol
Here's one more reason why we should get this prime minister out. He only cares for friends and family
I think those drugs were being brought for JT
Where's the Canadian Foreign Minister ? He/She needs to get these people home.
Sorry dude the passengers look very guilty according to this video, as for the crew they perhaps are the only ones worth saying something to help them, after all they reported the drugs.
paid off.
They have been home
Excellent investigative journalism! Well done.
Pretty wild bell media canceled this show.. id rather them cancel local news and keep this. This is actually journalism.
The question is how did the passengers come across that lawyer to be their legal representation? Who is paying his bill? I would want my own lawyer.
Probably my favorite youtube channel right now. This is top quality journalism
Follow the money and see how much makes its way into one of the shell companies of the guy who lives at the $7 million bomb shelter outside Ottawa.
W5, you are the best. You rating is off the charts for me. Shame on the Canadian government.
pro zionist pro islam govrrnment......
Man this was put together so well ... Definitely going to subscribe.
It is a frequent situation that the judges and prosecutors are best friends with the narcotics also in Spain and Argentina, TRUDEAU is not a friend of Canadians!
Trudeau sucks!
Well done to the whole media team - so sad the final release took so long
Subscribed. Amazing journalism.
it is obvious who the culprits are, doesn’t take a genius to figure that out, but Kudos to W5 and to that pretty brave woman. ❤
Running out of fuel because its over a ton heavy.
Perhaps, in the middle of the Atlantic worse 👈
It wouldn’t get off the ground had they not found it because they would have fueled for a nonstop back to Canada. They would’ve went off the end off the runway if they didn’t stop short.
That 506 pound more, bs , even fueled to the max that is not a problem, that aircraft is designed to be fueled to the max and carry full passenger load, nevertheless the crew is inocente but the passenger are questionable, definitely the airport authority are the guilty one, nothing goes down at the Dominican airports without the authority’s involvement, it has always been like that and it will remain like that, I know, I’m Dominican
Those freaking passengers are in on it, they drug smugglers, and the real state guy is the money man.
We went there on a family vacay about ten years ago, but my passport has no record of it. Why? At that time you didn't have to go through customs, and we didn't. Not because we were dishonest but because we got into the fastest moving line. It lead straight to the parking lot. My wife wanted to go back inside, but I'm a smoker and I was having none of that BS. Still can't believe you can land at their busiest airport and just walk past customs. PS. Worst Caribbean country I've ever been to.
Powerful people wanted their supply, and their good deed screwed it up. Those sending and receiving it weren’t average people
@Reviewer-qr5gr in the Dominican republic the same police that got them trust me
What happened to the 3 passengers that had previous drug convictions and the one guy connected to the phony capital company?
do not go on vacation in countries like this! there are a lot of nice places in counties like the USA and other Europian and western countries... In the US itself there are places that you can go on vacation and be safe. Be safe ppl! Thank you for W5, this investigation probably helped the process of them being released. Excellent job W5!!!
Bro...if you're scared in your house eating cookies drinking milk say so. Rest of us are going outside.
There are many, mostly safe and beautiful places to go to. Don't go somewhere because it's cheapest.

Thanks 🙏🏼 to w5. Gave them there freedom ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Amen.
That smile on their faces when they finally were able to embrace their love ones, it’s priceless.
This was a great report thank you
Thank God for W5 great story to come across!! A real eye opener not to travel DR and possibly to Canada for just the fact their country didn't help at all. Good job W5!!!
its scary cuz i was on vacation in punta cana this time last year
Total corruption, they didn't even know what was in the bags, until they had been inspected , all inbound planes need to be inspected before being unloaded
Great storytelling!!!
Great investigation! Your team’s expertise, passion and commitment to correcting this tragedy is heartwarming.
Investigative journalism at its best, thank you!
Two criticisms, if you don’t mind? Sooner would have been better, yes? And… Canada’s government officials and prime Minister? Why not push harder? A deeper investigation into their cowardly inaction is warranted, yes? Their lack of accountability and character bothers me. It’s inexcusable, period.
They need to specifically answer for gross negligence and deliberate disregard for human rights violations.
Damn. Stellar investigation! Well done.
Excellent work
Where is the Canadian government. They should support this inocente people..
There not innocent
Thanks Justin. He is too busy running his own corruption empire. This country is sick.
Thank God for your work!
Well done investigation!
You're the best channel ,thanks for this documentary ,
and this is why I don't travel anywhere outside USA.
So only to Detroit and St Louis, and Chicago
Will these canadian crew Sue the country of Dominican Republic for unlawful imprisonment.
They would have to return there
Lol , you cant sue a country for doing things their own way , we aint in America where you can sue for whatever
Lol
Lol, good luck with that. You clearly haven’t travelled to foreign countries…they don’t give a rat’s ass
Good luck fighting the goberment here lol …. They lucky the get out of here in one pice lol …. Thank good they make it out …trust me here in DR you fear the police they place on you drugs , guns anything to put you in jail ….is there words only hear thats the perfect example how the laws work here
Great job Avery !!
After seeing this video, I will never visit Dominican Republic.
Come on just travel one time. By the way can you take a bag with you from a friend if you travel back home? 😂😂
Dominican Republic has nothing to do with this. Corrupt people in power have.. and someone in Canada with power was picking up these drugs.
Those guys got back and said, wooo. Can't believe they bought it. Never doing that again.
there's a reason why people are leaving that country en masse
This is not true, but this is a very strange case that needs international oversite, they either innocent or guilty and someone else needs to find out, since the court there seems to have a bies against them, for example won't they know who exactly put the bags there, an airport employee or some other official that works for customs or even a baggage handler.
@@lcfflc3887 TRUMP 2024
Amazing reporters! ❤ W5 at its best as always!!!
Canada's Prime Minister is not respected abroad or at home.
By the way the passengers looked very guilty and the upfront gosth company Trust capital too, so yeah maybe the crew perhaps were innocent but the passengers uhh very doubtful, the prosecutor there made a big mistake, both the crew of 4 and the group of passengers were supposed to be divided in to two groups with separated cases and then they could have gotten to the bottom of this, the drugs were been requested from Canada and the passengers seems to know everything about it. The whole case was a failure, the American court system would have cracked down the whole thing faster and easily if this took place here in the US, the prosecution did terrible investigation work over there, I'm from DR myself, I was born there, and this much I have to say about this case and court system there.
Good documentary, thanks.
Shame on the planes owners for not getting their employees out of danger
They were extraordinarily fortunate. In most cases they would have been murdered.
You’re missing out of many beautiful countries and cultures. I’d skip many 3rd worlds though.😂
will be by their contacts.
You are an angel of Hope
Odd there were no surveillance cameras on the tarmac facing the plane. It would show those that handled and boarded the contraband.
How about an update??????
There hasn’t been an investigation yet, or at the very least, the police in Canada and the DR haven’t publicly commented about any investigation. The most recent information about this was an article about how the pilot is suing the Canadian government, the RCMP, the airline company, and the DR government. He claims that the RCMP knew about the drugs because they were investigating two passengers from those trips who had ties with the drug cartels in the DR. Also, a DR official commented that the crew never spent a night in a jail cell, and that the DR had to keep them in the country until the investigation ended.
Good Work!
They need to start revoking Dominican visas in Canada, and stop provoding aid and see what they do.
Why I don’t understand is how they were able to enter DR with drug trafficking convictions?
What are talking about? DR doesn't stop people from traveling there for any conviction, what country does that? You know of any?
@@lcfflc3887yeah Canada ironically enough.
@@lcfflc3887canada and other countries stop people from coming in for simple shit like dui
Is this a reupload? I remember watching this some time ago already
What happened to the aircraft?
Yeah good question
What happened to the drugs?
Almost would have been smarter to fly to a friendly airport to report it. Leave that island and go to US territory nearby
Lol great idea, fly out of DR to a U.S. territory and when you land say, oh hey, found this lmao
Thank you so much for doing that at the very end. When they felt like they had no hope God sent you. You did amazing journalism.
And it makes me feel hope and humanity again
Wrong. Putting over 400 lbs in the very front of the plane. Moving the center of gravity that far forward makes the aircraft unexpectedly nose heavy. Calculating weight and balance it part of very flight. Hard to take off, hard to climb. Overweight and not balanced is extremely dangerous.
Always watching from Georgetown Guyana south America 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾
Great Job

0:28 Avery, thank you for a stellar job. No matter the outcome , shame on the Canadian government and the RCMP for dragging their feet. They let this affair drag on so long without showing their citizens that they were involved. Talk about looking like gutless wonders.
Kudos to w5 on this report
This is why I no longer want to travel to the Dominican Republic or Mexico or other similar corrupt Third World countries.
I will travel in the United States where I am safer, and there is due process !
Shame on the Canadian government for not helping these people sooner.
Great reporting! Just subscribed.
Great job W5..thank you 👏 👍 ❤🎉. I wonder if boycotting is a way to go!?!
Bravo W5!

Drug dealers!
This illegal detainment is really quite common in drug cases in the DR it happened to us in the 80’s with the same outcome they dropped all charges and released everyone without explanation. I can’t help but think the DEA was involved at some point . The only difference was we posted a bond that was never returned . But it was worth every penny Jails in the DR are closer to torture chambers than jail’s. At least by American standards , dysentery runs rampant ( runs rampant is an under statement) it’s like projectile vomiting only from the other end . But I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that this was 40 yrs ago when you didn’t need a passport to enter or exit the country . I’ve never been back nor do I have the desire to go back
My eyes were watering like I had been cutting onions when the copilot- who had just become a Canadian citizen, was hugging his kids. So glad they were reunited with their families
are they out now?
That’s a real good story, thanks to all.
after watching this clip, my first though is to avoid traveling to this country at all cost .... Their legal system is ridiculous...

They set this up 💯 good got caught and no on was able to be charged
What's the update
very good documentary
Double lock all your plane doors is a must and installing simple camera systems in and out of fuselage that sends data to company via internet would help protect everyone.
Not on my travel list.

Yeah right…you didn’t know !! 😂
For not knowing anything, the lawyer sure is answering before any questions. BTW ... I've heard of 'island time' but this is rediculous.
This is outstanding journalism. I am former Law Enforcement (federal & military). This is blatantly obvious that the cartels had ramp agents/loaders/maintenance staff on their payroll. The crew is being scapegoated.
Correct, no wonder the video evidence was edited.
And what about the signature ramp agent?
Exactly all these people saying they are involved obviously have no experience in crime. They reported the drugs. No smuggler would report the drugs. Simple as that. They were obviously innocent and being scapegoated.
@@eaglepro_nest you clearly watch way to much TV.

awe would you look at that, he freed his spiders after he spent time in jail . lol
A SIZEABLE QUANTITY FOR TRANSPORT- OBVIOUSLY IF INVOLVED, THE CREW WOULD N O T SAY A N Y T H I N G ABOUT IT, LET TO THE AUTHORITIES.
IT'S MORE LIKE A QUANTITY WHERE MONEY AND POWER STRUCTURES LIVE LIKE BIG BUSINESS OR HEADS OF STATE, NOT COMMONERS ON A JUNKET TO PARADISE OR THE CREW ATTENDING TO THEM..
GET THE PM OFF HIS ASS, GET A PAIR OF CANADIAN MILITARY JETS TO ACCOMPANY AN AWAITING RIDE OUTTA THAT BACKWARDS COUNTRY WITH ORIGINAL CREW AND PASSENGERS ON BOARD AND GET THEM THE HELL OUT.
OR AT THE LEAST, THE OWNERS OF THAT CHARTER AIRLINE OUGHT TO ARRANGE A CLANDESTINE AIRLIFT OUTTA THERE.
Amazing story.
Even more amazing is that each time the reporter interviews the 2 women who were not crew, the woman with the big circular ear rings looks like a totally different person ! 3 times within 3 minutes I knew it was her speaking but had to double check the big fat lips to make sure it was her again !!!
make-up, hair dye, she's a master of disguise LOL. The younger one is quite smart and readily recognizable all the time.
Nice big fat booty too haha
This is crazy
It's more than likely nervousness. Imagine his position. Your life depends on it. So that pressure leads to him over-selling what happened to some extent. I don't think he was a part of it. He's the head pilot. If he was a part of it, he would have selected the "Master Caution" button again to turn it off. Not tell his boss. Use your brain a bit. Canadians don't drug smuggle. Latin countries do.
Crazy yeah, the real drug dealers, the passengers got away with it except for the drugs left behind.
Why does anyone go to the DR?
Thanks W5? For helping these poor people
There’s a lot of hypocrites in this world !
Sorry kids there is no justice system anywhere unless your super rich or connected. USA also
im sorry. as soon as i got my bail, I would have done EVERYTHING in my own power to get off that island. I dont care. I would have swam to Cuba if i had to. I would have disappeared into the night and hell or high water, id be gone.

This is why my family chooses Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 as part of our Caribbean vacation. We avoid the DR at all costs. Visitng Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 is a lot more expensive than visiting the DR for a reason.
