Excellent explanation! Finally someone explained for beginners using plain language! Thank you!
Your channel is unique don’t ever follow someone else’s path, that’s what make you special. One day...and very unexpectedly you’ll find yourself sailing with a super competent sailor girl, I’m sure of that. But in the meantime, live every day like you have been doing, honest and with positive outlooks. I bid you the best!
Thanks so much. Exactly the plan. Stay true
Tim I agree with your outlook for the sailing channel. Enjoy your cruising.
Thanks. That’s appreciated.
I appreciate the lack of click bait and value the integrity you bring to your channel. I always learn something. Thank you! -Jim
Great introduction to sailing for the kid. If he still loves it, he’ll do just fine.
I learned more about sail trim from that short couple minutes than I have from any other video yet. Excellent and very visual. Thank you.
Tim, keep doing what you're doing, there's plenty of other bikini channels to watch... this is about you and your adventures. Enjoyed how you explained setting the Jib/sail...
Thanks :)
Wow! The Neuse River IS gorgeous isn't it? 🍻Lady K. Thank you🙏🏼
I love the no click bait and no chicks to push the channel,,,when the time is right the girl will come ,,,total respect for you motives for the channel and Im sure many other viewers feel the same way. live the dream brother
I wish I had seen this video when it was released. I would have gladly volunteered to be a crew member. Sailing has always been a dream of mine.
Sail trim was awesome best explained and understood.. carry -on.
Thanks. And thanks for watching
It’s another wonderful day…I learned something!!!
An absolutely great episode Tim. Storms and excitement plus one helluva lesson on sail trimming. Even the backing off the dock was educational. I can tell that you love to teach.
Thank you ❤️
Agree totally, did you consider a bow spring line, rigged from the deck? So the stern goes first with the current, then you let go bow? Less chance of leaving someone behind...Trying to remember Sailing School tactics, thanks for great episode
You are doing a great job living the dream. Keep sending us the wonderful videos
I love your Chanel all about how to sail
No click and bait
Pure education and fun.
Wow, thank you so much for the trim explanation. You filled in alot of info others have left out. Much appreciated.
Great episode! Thanks for powering through the turmoil and taking us along. I look forward to every episode!
Hey thanks for sticking with me
Love the Rockna explanation in the middle of the storm. Good Stuff.
Haha thanks. That’s what I was thinking the whole time
So, bad weather seems to follow you but bikini clad crew don't. LOL
Personally, I think you have the right ratio of adventure and how-to. I know sail trimming can be a mystic art form and there is nothing worse than not knowing what this or that is for, asking those "experts" and getting a condescending look. I learned to sail back in the day on a gaff rigged boat. No boom vangs or cunninghams to be found.
Your "this is what I have and this is how I use it" approach is bang on.
Oh, and Happy Canada Day, eh.
Great sailing cruising video.
If I could have seen in to the future I would have saved vacation time and spent some time with my sister and her family and some with you in Virginia. Keep up the great work. Love the how-to videos - looking for our way out which will be coming soon. Been sailing Buffalo the last 2 years so your videos really do register with us.
Hey thanks so much. Thinking about coming back to Lake Erie for the summer so maybe I’ll see you!
@@LadyKSailing hit us up!
Great vid Tim. Keep up the good work especially teaching me about how sails work. Cool stuff.
Good tips on trimming the jib. I'll have to try them out this summer. Thanks for not using T&A to sell the channel. As much fun as it would be to see you guys in mankinis or speedos, I prefer the sailing content. :D
Hahaha thank you
@@LadyKSailing I'd love to come down and help you sail. I especially like the Virginia and Cheasapeake Bay area. Maybe in the next season.
@@christinec1928 , You are still really cool!
Great video, storms were amazing. thanks for the trim tips.
Ty so much!! I’m interested in hearing and learning from you guys who are out there sailing. I want to learn! So good to see you. Be well.
I learned a little today! Thanks!
Nice video on sail trim. I enjoy your work. Keep ‘em coming.
This video is very informative to a non sailor. Keep up the tutorials!
That was really interesting about the sail trimming. Not being a sailor, yet, I never really considered a sail to be like a wing but only a kite/parachute type setup.
Wow. Great episode brother. We may need to talk. My wife just gave me the green light to possibly join you for a bit. This was very informative. Thanks for sharing. We are in Richmond Va. if you stop in Norfolk or even in the Chesapeake bay let us know. Would love to meet you and chat over a beer or two.
Hey thanks. Cool shoot me a message if you can. Will be passing Norfolk in two days time.
I grew up in Va Beach ❤️
Excelllent video all around. Thanks.
Thank you!
I have watched (and love) SO many Lady K videos mostly BECAUSE you don't use click bait bikini photos. I'm a newish sailor about to move from Missouri to Georgia to begin my 5 year plan to be a cruiser. Tim, if you are looking for crew again I really would love to crew for you. I even have some cool ideas for a few unique destinations.
Learned something new thanks!
Thanks for watching :)
Great episode!
Thank you
DON'T FREAK OUT TOO BAD ITS JUST A SUMMER SQUAL IN SC. I LIVE IN NC AND WE GET THE SAME THING. JUST DO WHAT YOUR DOING AND DON'T OVER THINK THINGS. KICK BACK AND ENJOY THE STORM. YHEY'RE KINDA COOL. I LOVE THE STORMS
this was the best video by far and I wish I was on there
Great video, crazy storms!!!!
Take Cover, Riding the Storm Out. There's nothing like the thrill of being in the center of a horrific thunderstorm on the water. With Lightning Bolts trying to grab the mast, and whipping Winds, piling the water waves into a sloppy frenzy. The thrill, and anxiety levels climb to a ferocious Climax, as the Thunderstorm closes in, and reaches its' Max Amplitude. Sometimes these Storms will linger, and dole out a brutal Pummeling to the living and Material World, while small storms flash through, and cleanse the landscape. Mother Nature hands out such inspiring moments like these, to fill the Memories.
Well said
Let's look at the flip side boss, us guys love watching the ladies... but I suspect there are many ladies out there who would like to watch guys ;)
P.s as always awesome channel mate 👊👍
When your in this Gail, time to make some tea.
Fantastic explanation of trimming the sail. And I'm glad you keep the channel classy and not all about hot bikini babes they are nice to look at and all but I enjoy the technical and sailing side of things.
Thanks. If you want to see anything specific let me know
Another great episode!
Ha Guy, good Vid, Well you can teach an OLD dog a new tricks, I replaced my buzzer for high bllge water alarm with a motorcycle horn that the dEAD can hear, because of what you guys lived thru, thanks for the idea JohnS/V Bright Eyes underway for the last 20 years
Good Job Tim
Thanks :)
What a great video!!
Hi Tim Hmmmmm I posted a comment before I don’t see it Anyways nice video thanks for the information about the sails that storm looks pretty scary Thanks for showing the Bad with the good All the best Tim
Unfortunately I'm getting ready to sell my home in California and move to Florida otherwise I would come join you as crew and go as far as you wanted me to go along thanks for sharing your adventures upon the ocean with me and everybody else
White caps in the ICW is never good. Keep killing it! Making me a better sailor.
Im from up there in Carolina beach,nc. I know about those thunderstorms that come up . i moved away to Louisiana on the gulf on my boat a year ago . im glad your safe and doing good. Now are you going to keep going north on up to Canada where your from or keep your boat in the states. Stay safe n God bless
Hey. I have to set foot on Canadian soil for 15 days sometime this summer. Not sure what that looks like yet but moving north to make sure it happens
Still enjoying your videos brother.
I see you tow your dink, here is something you might try in the ICW, raise you dink on the side of your boat by using the genny hailardi out of the water and put your deck cargo on the opposite side to balance the boat Port- STB. it will make you a little faster and still make a dingy launch easy John S/V Bright Eyes
Thanks. It’s on deck usually. I only tow it when I’m feeling lazy lol
Oh I forgot to mention; we also have a Rocna over sized with 100 m 10mm chain plus 150 m rode if required. Definitely don’t want to cheap out on the ground tackle. It would be like driving around with bald tires.
Maybe I missed it, but what size Rocna do you have? I just bought a 55 lb Rocna along with 150 ft of 3/8 chain. Also, a Mantus bridle and swivel. We have a Pearson 365. Yes indeed, a good nights sleep and storms is hard to put a price on. I rememeber a couple weeks ago when all those storms were rolling through NC everyday. We were in horrible weather like that too. Its no fun at all.
Hey same anchor. Mine is a 55 as well. Yes it’s been a rough go but always felt safe
Tim, full sail on strategy! 👌
To deepen the labor pool, I'm opening myself up to sea trials around September. I am coming out of major neck surgery where I've reclaimed the use of my arms and hands.
It would be an excellent opportunity to stress test myself prior to committing to a 38 footer I have my eye on for full time live aboard at the minimum.
Thanks!
Ouch. Best wishes with the surgery.
When you refer to your auto are you sailing track or wind vane? If the winds are consistent then track would be the way to go ( at least from my experience on our boat). Normally I just helm as you get much better VMG.
That all sound like Chinese to me, LOL I’m more of a hands-on person, maybe I need to take you up on your offer and go out for a couple weeks ha ha.... but it was very good and I always appreciate watching your videos
Well come on by and I’ll teach ya :)
I kind of get taking the ICW when sailing south, but seems like getting offshore and riding the gulfstream north beats running into shit and waiting on bridges. Just stay within 50 miles or so of shore so you can run for cover if it gets shitty.
Been to the Charleston Crab House several times.
During the storm in Charleston, why were you heeling so much? Shouldn't the boat want to point straight into the wind while on anchor?
Are those your bimini frames holding up your solar panels
Nice explanation on the sail trim. Did you take any sailing courses or you are all self taught?
How do you deal with lighting? And lighting strikes?
Avoidance mostly. If I have to deal with it i anchor next to someone with a bigger mast. The boats rigged for strikes but never been hit.
Anything on how to sail and what to do if and when you end up in a hairy situation would be awesome
I don't know how fast that storm came in, but I would have pulled the engine off of the dinghy !
Wish we had time. It came up very fast. Not even on radar.
Good video. You mentioned the boat heeling while at anchor, due to the high wind and I suppose this is due to the lateral drag on the chain as the boat tries to face windward. Is this a big issue. I'd be interested if you thought a small sea anchor over the side midship would help offering some type of drag. thx non sailor.
Hey good question. It actually has to do with a lot of things. The tide is a big factor. A boat will not always point up. If the tide force is stronger than the wind it’ll point into the flow of tide. In our case, the wind was simply so strong the boat couldn’t round up. All the boats were beam to and heeled
Thx. Just to let you know its a scorcher here in your home port. :-)
@@robertcarr5457 Ouch. It's about 90 here too. Little breeze today however
That sounds like a plan to me but I won’t get any downtime until fall or winter time... i’m planning on going to my first Annapolis boat show this year, maybe I’ll see you there
Wow that’s great you’re gonna love it. Maybe I’ll be there. I’d love to
Lady K Sailing it’s this October the 10 through the 14th at the city docks in Annapolis
Big up to you on keeping it real. That bikini babe stuff just cheapens it. Those youngins tend to be trust fund babies anyway, just chasing youtube gold, once they get tired of fakin the life, they go back to their mansions.
How far north are you going? Are you going back to Canada for the season? I may be interested in helping crew once near the Hudson/Erie Canal or on Lake Erie.
Hey thanks. Heading for NYC for July 4 fireworks for now. Drop me an email and we can chat about it - tim at ladyksailing dot com
Just wondering why you leave the dinghy out while traveling the ICW especially in that awful weather?
Laziness mostly. If I’m doing anything in bigger water she goes on deck.
Lady K Sailing honesty is a virtue lol!
👍👍
Hey guys, that first storm you went through, were you at anchor or motoring? (@4:00 - 6:00)
That’s was anchored just in time. About two minutes before she hit us
I might be missin your girl but you don't appear to be!
Tim, Just to let you know I don't know anything about sailboats. and I have never been on one (to date). That being said, in a storm isn't your mast like a lightning rod?? (its like hey lightning here I am)
Yes it sure is. This is why I always try to anchor next to a bigger boat with a taller mast 😁
lol, I hear ya! That's what I would do also. I love your channel. Thank you for the reply!
You should contact DJ dives channel...there up for new places to advance there sailing skills...
Hey Tim , What about doing a good fishing Video. For eats. Crabbing how to cook em
Love to butwe never catch anything lol. Not something I can speak intelligently about sadly.
Darn I wish I knew you were in Charleston. I wanted to hand off a a set of foulies, an offshore vest and waterproof backpack . Would have been nice to take you out to dinner while you were here an experience a little bit of Charleston. I would love to crew for you but I have other obligations. Best of luck with your sailing and keep up the good videos
Hey sorry. Came and went. Trying to get to nyc for the fireworks on July forth
Great episode also is lady k a blue water boat?
“Blue water boat” is a relative term someone made up.
wow wow mıyaw
nice delos shout-out.
wow. that was some storm there.
totally agree with your position on bikini girls.
having said that....you oughtta' get another bikini girl. :)
nice episode.....thnx.
😂 I am 4 years too late, hope you will open an opportunity soon
You don’t drive a boat , you stir a boat ☠️
Are you sure you stir a boat?
@@willieshappyhomestead5399 You need to use a really big spoon .
"buy it anyway!" I wonder how many Rocnas you convinced people to buy..
what's the consensus on the ultra anchor? It seems way more expensive however the videos I saw show it set way more efficient and dig deeper vs rocna. Rocna is a great anchor and I do like it, just curious if it is worth it to go to these premium pricey anchors.
I don't do FB Do you have an email?
