For pretty, vintagey, beautifully shot movies my faves are Brooklyn (starring Saoirse Ronan) and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society! Oh, and Ladies in Lavender. All visual feasts and lovely storylines 💕
Catherine, I absolutely love you, your content, your beautiful little home, garden & overall style. Watching your videos are the highlight of my day. You are just the sweetest, most precious lovely person.
Oh yes fantastic period series. I live in a little village in the middle of nowhere and found myself without wifi so dug out the old school dvds and the complete box set of Lark Rise to Candleford was there so I binged watched them. Fab!
We just started All Creatures series again., probably the 5th time over the years. I love many of the movies that have been mentioned. I have Call the Midwives, I can't get through one without crying. If I need to be cheered up, I always go for Mamma Mia. 🌺❤🌺
I also love ‘Call the midwife’ and have all the series on dvd. I’m old enough to have watched the first ‘All Creatures great and small’ and I absolutely loved it but I couldn’t warm to the latest production and stopped watching after the first couple of episodes. I was tempted to buy the older series on dvd but didn’t have to as the old/original production came onto our tv, as we have a channel specifically replaying all the older tv series (including ones in black and white before colour tv.)
@@lisalife7994 Thanks Lisa, I will give it another go and watch it later on reruns perhaps. I guess when you see original actors in a series and the actors play the characters to a ‘T,’ then it’s harder to adjust to the new series. e.g. I have watched or have dvds of a lot of versions of Anne of Green Gables but for me the Canadian version I watched first starring Megan Follows, is THE one! 😅
When we want to sit and chill my daughter and I will watch Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. It has lots of lovely singing, dancing and a happy ending for everyone ( with gorgeous Quilts and Quilt dresses).
My cozy movies: The Beautiful Fantastic, A Room With A View, Pride & Prejudice (1995), and TV program Larkrise to Candleford. Thanks for your recommendations, Catherine. Your cozy video was perfect. And of course, Blondie was the icing on the cake.❤❤❤
Love Howard's End, Room with a View, Gosford Park and Remains of the Day. Also, The Talented Mr Ripley, oh mustn't forget Tea with Mussolini. Lovely video, I miss my log fire so much 😢 it is so cosy.🍁🍂🍁🍂
Those are two of my favourite movies I must have watched them hundreds of time and when I need that vintage fix and to step back in time these are always the ones that do it!
The most visually beautiful movie I have ever watched is "Bright Star", the love story of Romantic poet John Keats and his muse Fanny Braune. It has simply stunning scenery, every camera shot is AMAZING! The story itself is beautiful, too!
Sorry, I was late to the party. I love how you made your living room so cozy. I adore your fireplace. The sound and smell of a crackling fire is such a wonderful thing. I am very envious of your first day of hot chocolate, Miss Blondie, takeaway, your lovely home, cozy clothes and something good to watch on television. The perfect evening. May you have many more. Love it!
Cyrano! The new one with Peter Dinklage. Musical beautiful love story! I saw it three times in a historic movie theater and cried each time. I hope it’s as beautiful on the tv!
Shetland is an amazing series. I watch a lot of English T.V. and Ireland based shows in the Autumn. Great stuff! Hope you are keeping light in these darking days 😁🐈
Based on your recommendation I searched for ‘Miss Potter’ and JUST finished watching it! Thank You SO much I just LOVE the movie 😊! I have always loved Beatrix Potter and made certain my children heard and read her beautiful stories. At 70, she still reaches my heart!
I think the most visually beautiful movie is Pride and Prejudice with Kieira Knightly and Matthew Macfadyen. Every frame of the movie is amazingly stunning. ( well I think so) . Oh so romantic too. Love watching you. 💕
Back again! Just remembered to oldies but goodies A walk in the clouds this will transport you to that place we get that fine fix we need, and also under the Tuscan sun you will love love love these!
Oh I love cozy TV! I'd recommend Grantchester (PBS I think), lots of English village vibes set in the 1950's, Downton Abby, love the Great British Bake Off on Netflix. I could watch it over and over. I know there is a Great Irish Bake Off but I can't find it.
Love love love “call the midwife”.. and miss potter and yes love the visually pretty, vintage pieces as well but my all time fav is “Mr Sunshine”. Btw I’ve watched it about 20 times…😬
For this season it's Practical Magic for me. I was heartbroken to find out the house doesn't really exist, it was built as a set and torn down. But that kitchennis my goal.
The Mantle decorations really came together at the end. It is looking so happy and cosy. The garland does nicely complement the bright colours of your sofas. Agree with your recommendations, adding pretty much any version of "The secret Garden". ☺️
Hi Catherine. Loving all the cosy vibes. I’ve already watched all your recommendations but didn’t get into Dahmer A lovely series to watch on Netflix is The Good Witch. Absolutely love to melt into all the happiness & beautiful locations & scenery vibes. Hello to Blondie x
Love the fire and decor you decided on. The garland is beautiful. Looks all cozy there. I decorated as well with a few bits. I crochet and I have quite a few items I switch out every season.
I love your recommendations, I can't wait to check out The Shack. Call the Midwives is my all time favorite! Some of the BBC Miss Marple episodes are gorgeous! My classically American Fall favorite is St Elmo's Fire with the very young Brat Pack.
This time of year I love Little Women, the 80s version of Anne of Green Gables, and Meet me in St. Louis. I just finished the British series The Green Glove Gang and the Korean series called Romance is a Bonus Book and both were so good.
Your description of the content/story-line of hallmark channel movies, cracked me up! ....who doesn't love a man with a toolkit in a check lumber shirt!!
As soon as I saw this pop up I ran out into the kitchen and made a cuppa in my new pumpkin mug knowing this video was going to have a cozy vibe. I love the film the Shack. Funny how we also have seasonal tv favourites. Thank you for a fun video xx
Never be afraid to cut up garland! Could be nice as swag or mini wreaths on the vitrines beside hearth. With a couple of sprigs left over for mantle to refer back to :) Can always tie back into another coordinating garland or braid into wide ribbons or tattered chic fabrics. Or wire together making hooks and eye invisibly linking them back together at a whim
Love your autumnal cozy vibe going on in the living room. I'm with you on the "ho-hum, same -as -always" Hallmark movies. Always the same story line with different actors. I did discover Hallmark Garage Sale Mysteries the other day on Roku. I've watched three so far and I'm hooked on these now!!
You've got mail is my favourite autumn movie, and autumn season in gilmore girls, that is always very pretty and beautiful🍁🍂🎃🐿 . I enjoyed watching your video,it is very cosy too🦔🍁🍂.
Love your recommendations and agree with you...these are the best! Thanks for showing the hot chocolate. I love Cadbury but didn't know they made drinking chocolate. I'll get some ordered! Thanks for sharing your life with us. Love this time of year.
Happy autumn from the US. It is a little sad, but One True Thing is a good seasonal movie. It is filmed during autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years. It features a beautiful house and scenery with lovely leaf colour and a snowy Christmas, also Meryl Streep. Your fire is so inviting. We had our first fire a couple of weeks ago, the first freeze. 🍁🙋♀️🎃
One of my favorite movies to watch with a cup of cocoa or spiced cider, all cozy and warm is Somewhere In Time. It was made in 1980 and stars Jane Seymore (one of the most beautiful women ever born) and Christopher Reeve. You might need a tissue or two, but I love it. I must have watched it at least a couple hundred times. Most of it was filmed on Mackinac Island at the Grand Hotel here in my state of Michigan in the U.S. Cars aren't allowed on the island except emergency vehicles.
Good Sunday morning Catherine. Excellent video with superlative production values - heartwarming and inspiring. I believe this is one of your best yet. Your Autumn decorating skills. are impeccable. Thanks so much for sharing a tour of your cozy home. 😉😉
