It is absolutely guaranteed that in the case you described , ie, if activists and common people were encountered and killed, there would be a huge push back from the entirety of society because the majority of people would be against the killing of "mostly" innocent people. That is also why this type of justice is only useful against massive organized crime syndicates, which was proved by the Mumbai underworld extinction. It won't help to solve petty and sporadic crime, nor should it be because then the consequences will definitely outweigh the benefits.

When 11 judges refused to hear Atiq's case from fear of Atiq Ahmed, the court and judicial system got shut down from that day. That's why Mumbai police did so many encounters and now Mumbai is free of crime. Now in this Yogi government, if up police is given freedom of encounters then you'll see how up changes. When even judges are scared to hear the case, you know it's time to go extra judicial. Look at Mumbai, everything went back to normal after the threat was over, and police only encounters when there is public approval for it, so I'm not worried about long term damage. Until judicial reforms

Thanks Mohak for putting everything together. I can recall how Atiq used to threaten my friend's grandfather on account of acquiring their house. Trust me, I stayed in UP from 1993-2011 and saw the kind of fear people had from him due to his horrendous crimes. I feel bad about the stats which you showed w.r.t to open cases. Imagine if the state of law is not made efficient, how will we progress?
Statistics can be interpreted in different ways. Sometimes it may give a completely different idea than the ground reality. If crimes are increasing, it can also mean that the people are brave enough to report any crimes to the government now, that they are not scared anymore to raise a finger at a person for his wrongdoing. Most people on social media tell that UP has become very stable now.

Correction: The battle of Mahabharat and Ramayan was not fought for revenge but instead it was fought to establish Dharm( Truth or Righteosness). If you look at epic superficially as portrayed in soap operas or in popular culture, it would look like the characters have their own personal motivations for a conflict. The characters are the stmbolic representation of our own tendencies and the protagonist krishna( the embodiment of righteousness) guides Arjun (listerner) to fight the right battle. He didnt fought for revenge, greed, expansionism or sheer madness but he fought for justness.
So the moral of this video is, keep using the "revenge system" as long as our "justice system" is snail slow. Even if Mohak doesn't support the fast "revenge system", we do not have a second option.
Ateek would have died his natural death before our great courts could deliver any sentence against him. Remember he commited first murder at the age of 17 and died at 60. (( 43!!! Years to terror)). And he would have also killed many other innocents too before courts could take action. Courts are responsible for this encounter.
The only thing they didn't mention is that justice can take an excruciatingly long time, 18 years or even more, while the perpetrator is free to live their life. Rather than focusing on using a flawed justice system, the priority should be to strengthen it. In 2013, we shifted to Pune due to terror by his men even after filing FIR and giving notices to District Magistrate we didn't get any justice. My mother told me that we are moving for better future but we moved within a single night. One of Atiq's men came on 6th October and gave 3 tickets of Pune and asked us to leave home as soon as possible otherwise other men of his side will come and kill us next morning even asked us not to complaint anywhere otherwise we will be get kidnapped. That was the most horrified night for us. Currently I can proudly say that my eleder brother is serving army in 16th LIGHT CAVALRY regiment as Caption now. He was in IMA 2016-2020. When 11 judges refused to hear Atiq's case from fear of Atiq Ahmed, the court and judicial system got shut down from that day. That's why Mumbai police did so many encounters and now Mumbai is free of crime. Now in this Yogi government, if up police is given freedom of encounters then you'll see how up changes. Yogiji is now doing that. When justice and court fails to give justice to the innocents then encounter and killing of these wanted criminals is the last thing to give justice to the innocents.

Rather than focusing on using a flawed justice system, the priority should be to strengthen it. If the justice system were functioning effectively, incidents like this could be prevented, and victims would not have to endure such prolonged waits for justice.

You have all facts that how encounters are not good for long run but unfortunately no facts on what are the impacts on that family who have suffered from this. It is very easy to say that mai bhi badla le sakta tha but cant feel the pain of that family. I never visited UP since 2013, I was in class 8 , lost father in 2004 who was serving Indian army due to some accident . In 2013, we shifted to Pune due to terror by his men even after filing FIR and giving notices to District Magistrate we didn't get any justice. My mother told me that we are moving for better future but we moved within a single night. One of Atiq's men came on 6th October and gave 3 tickets of Pune and asked us to leave home as soon as possible otherwise other men of his side will come and kill us next morning even asked us not to complaint anywhere otherwise we will be get kidnapped. That was the most horrified night for us. Currently I can proudly say that my eleder brother is serving army in 16th LIGHT CAVALRY regiment as Caption now. He was in IMA 2016-2020. I'm also preparing for CDS. I'm just giving my perspective why I liked his killing not justifying those 3 nonsense kids who killed him just for fame. Hope you all will understand us.

Point to be noted is that extra judicial encounter system is executed only on very high profile cases where the criminals are much more powerful than the justice system itself. We know how our judicial system works and it would take them more than a century to convict a criminal. My friend's father was a councillor from allahabad's Jairampur seat..

I am writing without any emotional or political or religious bias.
The world isn't as linear as you would interpret it by joining a line between two dots ( as found to be in most part of this video)
Even the mahabharata and geeta that you are referring to and the form that we know of is as seen and reported by sanjay to dhritrashtra and not the actual happenstance. So the very first verse points out to relativity, something that makes our entire mythology non linear and thus open to interpretations, which further brings in diversity in thoughts which is why India as a country is so unique.
Coming back to the video, a simple counter to anyone who would want to be critical to this approach would begin from :where were you and your videos when the victims of atik were being "bulldozed". Let me repeat myself, I am not holding any bias towards any ideology, neither am I party of whether what happened was right or wrong. I am simply being critical to your awesome videos and content.
Do a simple math:
The amount of content (both tv and non TV) for a man shot in police protection (Atik) vs a man shot in police protection (umesh).
This will help you and your audience understand the inherent bias which is almost an elephant in the room.
So imagine this same video before atiks case, but after umeshs murder, all the logic to be same and juxtaposition of atiks name with that of umeshs ( except for the mafia part which umesh wasn't and by the look of the content creators everywhere is a "no-big-deal")
Would you still produce this video? Many such crimes do not even get acknowledgement in local newspapers ( and these are murders we are talking about. Life is a life whether atiks or umeshs) forget prime times like yours.
Even in the mahabharata we just know of the characters which sanjay reports and dhritrashtra seeks. What about the thousands of lives and names who also fought and perished, do we even know their names or what happened of their families) so this is what I like to call " Sanjays bias". Its not forced bias, but simply a physical limitation and inability to be able to report every crime which goes on to be amplified at the justice level, wherein it gets humanly impossible to deliver justice to even the reported cases.
Thus the error goes on increasing and society, for which the entire system is created, is encumbered with ever growing shackles and barnacles!
So as krishna says in the geeta, there has to be and there will be a counter check, once in a while, wherein he will come and reset the growing error and restore the societys virtues.( and as I said earlier, it's not as linear as you start relating Mr daya or Mr yogi as incarnations of Vishnu!) Basically a re- calibration, from which fringes (of both sides right and left) are trimmed, the branches are pruned, and the tree is all set for the next bloom.
Another corollary, in kalyug the error is the highest as compared to satayuga and even more complex. Thus the corrective avtar of Vishnu also have to be more complex. Just see the difference of characters between Shree Ram and Shree Krishna. Same Vishnu, absolutely different personalities and strategies! The varah avtar wouldn't work in mahabharata, isn't it?
So from time to time, as the ocean of milk is churned from left as well as the right ( pun intended) the world will continue to sustain, albeit some course correction from time to time from the "architect" by sending "neo" into the system!

When atique ahmad was Killing innocents then constitution of India was fine. When he exploited the poor and murdered them then people saw no harm to the constitution of India. When an elected MLA is attempted to murder many a times and them eventually killed in borad day light then it was all fine. When that murdered victim failed to get justice for almost 20 years then it was all fine. When the witness is brutally killed then everything is fine. But when the Mafia behind all of this who is still all good even after having so many cases filled against him and everyone knows is a culprit is encountered the country starts a debate.
It's easier to sit in a room all comfortable in your place and talk about the harm it's gonna bring to the constitution when a mafia is encountered...but only those who have lived in the fear that mafia brought to their lives only knows what it actually means to them.
