- A memorial for Richard Pierce, August 28, 1959 -- August 24, 2017.
AKA, "The Good Looking Guy on the Radio," guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and road manager, as well as the South Florida area's first "Locals Only" radio DJ on a Broward County-based non-commercial FM radio station, with the bands Shattered Glass Playground, the Reign, Mind Mural (with Kirk Whiteside of Lifeforce), Deadstar Assembly, and the county-rock driven Rambler.
Select cuts in this video from Mind Mural's debut album, Zygotic -- with "Dogs of War," "Pain," "Psychosis," "Secrets," and "Lust" -- heard locally on a few non-commercial radio stations in the early '90s. You seen them at Rosebuds, Rock Candy, and Summers, just to name a few. The Reign, then without Richard Pierce, put out a CD in the early '90s; you'll find their single on this page's seven-part "South Florida Local Rock" album series.
Video features pictures of Rich with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot, Ricky Medlock, Vinnie Paul, Lita Ford, and Vanilla Ice, along with pictures of live shows with Rich and Rambler opening shows for Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Rich also served as a spokesperson for Schecter Guitars.

Official memorial concert honoring our friend, Richard Pierce. Rambler and Deadstar Assembly will both be giving special performances at The Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This will be a free event, but donations and proceeds from raffles will go to the Pierce family. The Culture Room 3045 North Federal Highway Ft. Lauderdale, FL September 24th, 2017 at 7:00pm.

Yes, I think of Rich, often. Sigh. It was all so senseless. Rich couldn't be a more happy-go-lucky, friendly guy that never hassled or brought harm to others.
Rich popped into my head, today, as I drove by a Hooters. We had lunch there quite a few times. The only times I'd ever gone there to eat. I cued up some Mind Mural when I got home.
