I'd love to know how you got that amazing Spectraflame Red paint without the airbrush. It looks great, I would have thought it was airbrushed. You could have fooled me haha - Love Porsche's. A lot of nice subtle touches. Really nicely done!
Great video Derek thank you, I'm working up the courage to try some decals for the first time on some castings I've painted. I remember doing lots of them on model kits as a kid so looking forward to trying it. I was just wondering once the decals are set and dry, do you wipe the car down with something prior to the clear coat to remove any oils/fingerprints?, and how to do that without damaging the freshly applied decals.... Thanks!
I usually use a light (and sometimes heavy coat) or Tamiya gloss clear coat on my dalcas. Unfortunately, some of my white models are starting to turn yellow. How do you guys preserve your water slide decals? I just don't want them to peel off or break off.
Yeah white is tough to spray and tough to maintain for sure. The waterslides for me go under the final clearcoat of the car. I do not clear those seperate unless they come printed with no clear on them. 👊😁👍
If sprayed too heavy yes. On white coats it imperitive to spray it JUST heavy enough to give it an even coat, thats about all you can do before the discoloring starts happening.
@@HonestDiecast I only do 1/64 and 1/43. It's difficult for me to spray them so I just use Tamiya clear coat and a brush. But I guess from now on I'll just do a very light brush coat to preserve the decal.
