Vertigo, one of the best of all time!!!
Dude, Ebert called out those homophobes before it was cool to do so
Too bad it cut off I wanted to see Eberts full respons
Vertigo:)
but made in another time, like in 1957.
R.I.P. Pete Postleswaite.
R.I.P. Tim Conway.
This Romeo and Juliet was like such a big movie when I was in school. Cuz Leonardo DiCaprio was in it. And the trailer looked really cool. But, it comes across hilarious to me now , especially with John Leguizamo shouting Shakespeare. It's so hard to not feel it's just a comedy in parts.
But Claire Danes is a good actress. And DiCaprio looks awesome with the armor on. So if you keep and open mind, its worth seeing. I think Gene Siskel did.
Roger prolly thought it was cringey , so he didnt like it, but I agree with Roger how they missed an opportunity to make a far better film.
But it was a big hit on its opening day. Lots of people, and teenagers saw it. Especially the girls for DiCaprio.
But I dont think he did well OVERALL at the box office. Once word of mouth got out that it was not so great, people stopped rushing to see it lol.
_Rome + Juliet_ was a box office smash! It had a budget of $14 million ($26 million in 2023) and grossed $147 million ($282 million in 2023).
Larger than Life is a very sweet and relaxed movie with a young Matthew McConaughey part
Unhook the Stars is a great film!
It looks terrible
R.I.P. Roscoe Lee Brown.
I liked Large Than Life I laughed so hard the first time I watched it.
I actually have distinct memories of watching it and remembering that I laughed so hard I was having trouble breathing.
Bill Murray is overshadowed in the comedy department by one Matthew McConaughey
@@dnasty312 McConaughey was way over the top. Physical comedy is only funny to two groups: kids under the age of 9 and third world immigrants.
Vertigo 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟
Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet... I was 13 or 14 when it came out. Despite its good intentions, the leads just don't care. It's so desperate to be cool, like some young priest who plays acoustic guitar. It comes off exactly like _The Critic_ gag from 3 years before: _Keanu Reeaves in The Merchant of Venice:_
_- Hath not a dude eyes? If you prick us, do we not get bummed? If we eat bad guacamole, do we not blow chunks?_
RIP Gena Rowlands
Rog was prettaaaayyyy prettayyyyy staunch in this episode
Do you have the full version??
Nope
You can't miss it when you watch their fall 1996 reviews together. They hated each other in that moment. They seem genuinely angry.
How have I never seen (or even heard of) Larger Than Life??
That 90's Romeo and Juliet was so damn cringe.
Amen
I second that
I liked it. I thought Leo and Claire had wonderful chemistry.
@@musicman76enator Well, sure they had chemistry, but nothing more.
