I was shown that 221 method a few years back, and also have "cheat" codes for other scales like blues, minor, modes etc. What a difference this has made to my understanding of music theory. There is such an aversion to learning scales, but this method has made learning scales fun. Too many people have bad memories about being forced to learn scales, then getting hit on the wrist with a ruler by a stern piano teacher. The other area of confusion is the tone semitone system, and the confusing quavers and semibreves etc. The US system seems to work well, i.e., step, half step etc....
Good method. When I’m Showing youngsters they get confused when you start saying half and whole notes. I learned the tts ttts method

I teach my kids that "4 plus 3 a major chord for me.... 3 plus for a minor on the floor"
Very nice
I just saw 2 1/2, 3 1/2 when I started teaching myself, and that's how I've always remembered it...
Nice video! My system breaks it down even further, I'll get a video together to explain it at some point!
Sorry Sir - found it quite confusing !!! Regards.
