Buddy, thank you so much. Only been playing 16 hole Chromatic for 1 month. This has really helped explain the notes in a way I can remember. God bless ya!!
. Im a jazz sax player, and have always been interested to play jazz on a harmonica and never done anything about it. I bought a good one more than a year ago and it’s been sitting under the tv ever since. Your approach to this instrument is just what I’m after and I’m gonna make a start now. Many thanks.
Thanks for the comment. It really helps to learn to play some of your favorite melodies on the harmonica and just do that for awhile without trying to improvise. That will get you moving in the right direction for jazz harmonica. It will help you learn where the notes are in different keys. I also play saxophone and it a great asset to learning harmonica but also a big distraction because I am still trying to get better at jazz sax. I always have to decide which instrument to neglect.
I did it! :) Thanks for the great video! Just got a chromatic and was confused while trying to figure out the scale by using the button. Your video made it easy for me to understand.
Interesting... I'm just getting the C chromatic scale ascending quite well and descending a bit slower in 3 octaves. And G chromatic scale up and down as well, these alternate F and C notes are something to look at. Although a little confusing at first it makes sense to me to learn both patterns. Thanks for the lesson 🙏🎶
Really great nuts and bolts introduction, thanks. Just got my first chromatic, thinking I could jump from diatonic with maybe just a little learning. Wrong, wasn't I?!
dont know why you only got 82 likes this is the only video I could find that explains how to make a start playing the chromatic harmonica ! all the other videos promise to show how to play but there is nothing there other than eventually pointing to the fact that they want you to pay for THEIR private lessons!.............................
Beware of the "Koch" chromatic harmonica, it has part diatonic and regular chromatic scales, hard to play. Bought mine by mistake many years ago. I'm curious why original harmonica designers arranged diatonic and chromatic harmonicas they way they did it.

Fantastic video! Makes sense of the anomalies of the chromatic harp. As a beginner it was just what I needed, thank you!
