Just picking up the deck because it's at my budget level, and I just want to say thank you for a simple but nonetheless essential guide for simple melodious combos! One thing if I may, personally in the corner case I think it's a good idea to assume that the opponent might have imperm'd your refrain and by altering the line a little you can still end on 2 interrupts. You still go into the link 2 but instead you summon couplet and soprano, use soprano to get back sonata, fuse soprano and couplet into bacha, bacha to summon shopina and the effect of the pends to scale themselves, search fusion with couplet and send aria with refrain, and add soprano, use ostinato to fuse shopina and the link into shuberta, pend soprano and the sonata, use soprano to fuse bacha, herself and sonata to make etoille, trigger bacha to special back aria and trigger ostinato to draw 1. You get aria+bacha+etoille and a draw! It doesnt play around nib or droll or fuwaross ofc but still I don't think it's that bad after getting handtrapped on refrain. Do you have any line you personally like to use when the opponent plays fuwaross? Right now I'm mostly ending on shuberta and hoping it's enough with some handtraps drawn, but still I wish there was a less committing line, like a way to summon etoille giving the oppo at most two draws would feel much better

Just gotta hope they don't have a D Shifter too 😂. To answer your question, Fuwalos is killer... You know, them chaining it to Ostinato means giving them at least 2 draws or ending on something lackluster like a single Schberta/Bloom Diva. Right now, the easiest line against them is summon refrain, search canon and make a bagooska to skip their turn. However, I am currently running 7 Fuwalos counters so it doesn't resolve too often. 3 Ash, 3 Orange Light, 1 Called by. If I owned a Fuwa, I might even consider cutting the talents for Crossout to up that number 9.
@duelperfect yup and if u wanted to really make sure the card can't resolve u could run 1-3 droll for like 10 versatile counters to fuwa the decks ability to run non engine and herald of orange light make it really good and underrated
@angelmerced8344 yessir! The only thing to need to be mindful of, is that Ash and Droll stop you from being able to use Shopina's effect, but you can largely play around this. Just means you have less follow-up for next turn, which is better than letting your opponent draw 12

I started playing the deck years back trying to make it good after someone threw away the majority of the cards needed at an OTS since I only had red-eyes at the time and couldn’t afford something better. I didn’t get the farthest with it but there was always a great feeling when the lock was set up and people didn’t run the outs to it they do now. I haven’t actually gotten an opportunity to go after the new support came out. If I do though your video will be where I go to review.

I picked up Melodious recently and this video helped me understanding a lot of basic concepts about the deck :) However, in testing, I found an Ostinato line where Ostinato + 1 discard ends on Flowering, 2x Schuberta, Aria and Shopina without using the normal summon at all. I am not sure if the combo is "undiscovered" but I figured I might want to share it somewhere. I have a DB replay link but yt doesnt like links. :D
Well well well, overall a solid combo guide that gets the strengths of Melodious' swarming ability. If there is one nitpick, it's a bit of optimization in two combos:1st Movement, unlike Refrain alone, has a way to get to Etoile before Nibiru on its own, even if the endboard becomes slightly weaker as a result. Also, Ostinato alone has a safe line that opts on not using Harmonist at all without even needing Shopina, if you want to go that route (Which applies more if you want to go for maximum safety, which is how the players I met want to do their combos). I assume though you learned these on your own, which is a good testament of the message you said at the beginning as to how consistent and intuitive Melodious is. Speaking of that statement... I had made a written guide with associated spreadsheet, did I ignite these complaints somehow by putting every case I could? Overall, sorry for getting into this so late and solidly done!

You’re right; I did learn these combos by myself and yes you can use first movement solo to make etoile in 5 summons and your end board ends up being her + Aria. Which, is great since it’s a hell of a lot better than a single nib token XD. However, I am not too sure what you mean about the Ostinato combo, do you mean the standard line that ends on Etiole + Schuberta + Shopina + Aria? Also, if you happen to have that spreadsheet on hand, I’d love to grab it from you!

I've tried couple of deck but melodious is still my main deck It's underrated because it's not meta and current ygo play style can break their classic Aria and Elegy combo protection, but still if you play it right you can potentially defeat any deck including meta deck. And melodious is good for any play style that fit you be it burn deck, lock deck or OTK deck Anyway Bloom prima is my favorite card in this deck because its effect combo fit to my melodious OTK style lol
I think you just captured the essence of the deck so perfectly! 😌 Melodious, is a mid-range deck that'll always have its place in the meta as a rogue contender. It excels at playing through handtraps and disrupting your opponent's graveyard, which is HUGE in the current format. Plus, you're right it somehow seemingly does it all 😁. Lately, I've been leaning towards Bloom Prima too! It's a great way to close out games. I think I should give it a try again
@@kev92220 the odd-eyes combo is decent when using Melodious as an engine in another deck, like Voiceless or Chimera. It is a little bricky though, 'cause you need to draw 1 of 3 Ostinato and not 1 of the 5 "garnets". In Melodious, the Odd-eyes line is a little inefficient. It consumes way too many resources from deck and leaves you with very little follow-up.
@@Oteoreoo If Bacha was summoned via Ostinato and you don't have an extender to make harmonist with you'd go: - link Bacha of for Gravity Controller, - Grave eff of Bacha to summon refrain - Refrain search couplet or cannon - if couplet, eff in hand summon Soprano from grave - scale couplet and search for concerto - fuse Schberta using soprano and refrain - then depending on the situation you can either use the concerto to make Etiole or choose to stay on the Schberta. Personally, I think Etiole is safer since if they out it you get to special from deck or extra. Alternatively, if you go for cannon instead of couplet. - special cannon - overlay for Bagooska

So the first Combo, plays around Nibiru to an extent since you make Etiole on your 5th summon. You'd use the Etiole to banish itself let the Bacha and soprano be tribute. Use the Bacha effect to summon back Shopina and concerto to draw one. USe Shopina to add Soprano back to hand, pend the soprano, link into link-2, discard the card you drew to summon Arai + Elegy.

I'm having hard time playing these combos optimally whenever I open shopina in my hand with no way to discard it, any tips?
I'm not sure what exactly you're opening, but generally you can discard Shopina with the Link-2 and summon it back with Bacha's grave effect.
Would have also liked to see an OTK line. I find this deck has some trouble putting up 8K+ turn 3.

I have a cuestion you can use the effect of shopina twice in one turn?
