Thank you....being a noob to CNC and a golden oldie I found tis to be very helpful for when you need to do repetitive drilling etc without having to write the same yards of G code.

Back in the '80's Boston Digital made very accurate ( 5 micron)machine known as the Bostomatic, there were several versions including 4 axis machines. My point is that the control while not of great capacity, it had the most powerful canned cycle capability I have seen. As I remember, 100 canned cycles could be used and they could be nested in canned cycles 100 times, and not just G codes but fully programmed sub routines. This all meant that many milled profiles, at many levels, holes of all kinds, single, grouped in many different patterns, tapped, bored, counter bored , chamfered, countersunk , and mirrored in X or Y or XY could be programmed.Which meant for a very short program, the machine could produce for hours and hours. In fact if a library of canned shapes was set up, this could be kept loaded to memory and called as required by the main program. An ability made possible by the split memory, canned cycles loaded first followed by the main program, memory size division was automatic. All this over 40 years ago now, and I've probably forgotten more than I've said here!

Did not mention that your machine is in incremental mode.
