I was about to die from an overdose in my apartment in Miami all alone after so many different drugs…I went to grab my phone and I couldn’t even see what I pressed and out of no where UA-cam started and this song played. My heart was beating out of my chest and then the room turned white and I felt at peace. My heart slowed down and I survived. Jesus Christ is real people. He saved my life...
I went Amenesty Concert in Tokyo 1988. She showed up all by herself with one acoustic guitar. With one spot light, she start singing. On the first note, she owned whole stadium.

Until now, december 2023 ,i just discovered Tracy and im 33, i am asking myself where ive been all this time, listening to you is a good way to end the year and start a new one 2024 🎉❤
In the very early 1990's I was lucky enough to see her perform in a small venue on a college campus - she sat on a stool, played the guitar - no lights or big band back up - and everyone in the room was completely in awe. I know I was. I totally understand why Luke Combs father played her cassette over and over riding in the truck with his son, and why Luke says her album and Fast Car has been his favorite since he was 5 years old. She is amazing. I hope everyone starts searching for Tracy Chapman's music. There are so many amazing songs that this generation should get to hear.
Have always loved Tracy’s music. Her naturalness in dress , showing her beautiful self… as so many of our women need to do and be confident in doing it. When we go to bed at night beside a man next morning he must not be wondering who is this person beside him….. after makeup etc come off…
I love Tracy she touches on the truth! So glad to hear young people are listening to her messages about life and relationships tragedy love ect. Im 71 yrs old I dig her.
A friend of mine gave me a walkman and tracy chapman songs to listen to while i was in rehab it got me through every day until today.i love this womens voice and the message with every song😊
I will be 53 next month and still love Tracy C. and her songs. I can see the light of the people she describes in her songs, even in the worst situations. It is like she gives them her own light ❤
Life was hard when i started listening to Tracy but i manage to take things step by step all the way from Swaziland. It was her and UB 40 that music heal me
I was very young when I first heard her sing, she is a good singer, her voice is just like an instrument, she knows what she is singing, beautiful voice 😍amazing woman ❤
This song always brings good memories of a road trip i once took with a very notorious friend of mine aand his cousin in the middle of the night,my parents thought inwas at my female friends place but nooo was i think 4 or 5 towns away lol.. had an awsome drive. Easy, aircon on and tracey chapmans music
I love her songs too much. I've started to appreciate her songs at the age of fourteen, my elder brother had some of her CDs and I started listening the songs from there. I wish I can meet her one day,, to shake hand with her.
Oh my goodness. The second song after Fast Cars is even more prolific. She is a terrific artist. The message her songs paint and the stories they tell are breathtaking. She's so courageous.
She is my Heroine. Had the privilege of attending her show in Zimbabwe 1988 Human Rights Concert .Also present was Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel and many more Unforgettable memories . Social commentary at its best. May she live long
As a South African her music during the struggle against apartheid was inspiring and still so powerful and relevant. Brilliant stuff! Thank you for this fantastic upload.💜❤💚💙🧡
Just listening to her make me go back 30 years. I have loved and enjoy her songs for too many years and every time I listen to her I just go back in time and instantly feel happy, beautiful and hopeful. Thanks Tracy !!!
Holy Cow! I can't believe it has been 35 years (1988) since "Fast Cars" was released. Where did the time go? From the 1st time I heard that song, Tracy Chapman's first release, I was mesmerized. She is, without question, the best songwriter that has ever lived. Ms. Chapman, I wish you would release a new album. I miss your ethereal vocals, wonderful guitar licks, & Trobairitz's lyrics. Pino Annese, thank you for putting this playlist together.
I've her music singing from the heart. It reminds me when the world was at peace and you can trust anybody in this world. Wow! What a music! We thank God for your music Tracy
Greatest ❤ lovely female artist and among the best you are so soft and low profile. Loving you always Tracy you have a good legacy to the world wide. Your music is so soft and lovely. Though you are aging your voice sounds the same 🎉🎉🎉
And her lyrics are so grounded in 'real life' that I think everyone can find something relatable within them. Perfect example: I had to take continuing education courses to renew my RN license. One of those courses had to be domestic violence, child abuse, &/or elder abuse. Those topics had to be reinforced every 2 years so that we could recognize when someone was in trouble. Anyway, one year I took my CEUs with a large group of RNs (probably 75-100 of us). The proctor came onto the stage, turned on a boom box, & sat down silently in a chair. From the 1st lick of Ms. Chapman's guitar, I knew it was "Behind The Wall". I even said, "Tracy" out loud. The nurse sitting next to me had never heard of her so she asked me for her full name. When the song was over, the proctor turned off the boom box, said that our certificates would be available on our way out, & walked off the stage. I was sitting in the front of the room so when I turned around to leave I saw my fellow nurses. There was not one dry eye in the room. Even the big, hulking Male RNs were crying. And why, because we had all seen what Chapman had described. When I moved to Florida, my Parents & I witnessed a Man bullying a Woman & pushing her. We called the police but they left within 5 minutes. My Father asked the policeman why he wasn't doing anything about the situation, & the policeman turned to my Father & with a very defeated look on his face said, "They're married, & the law says we are not allowed to interfere between a Man & his Wife", & he drove away. So, every time I hear Ms. Chapman singing that line, I cry hysterically.
If she goes back on the road and does concerts, only death could prevent me from going! Haven't listened to Sub City in a long time. Now on my road trip play list. "Hunger only for a taste of justice. Hunger only for a world of peace." Beautiful. Incomparable. The playlist of my teens and young adulthood. A true treasure of talent and intelligence.

God bless you darling. I’m so glad you survived, but that was written in the script as well especially now you can tell others your experience and help others.

Have always loved Tracy’s music. Her naturalness in dress , showing her beautiful self… as so many of our women need to do and be confident in doing it. When we go to bed at night beside a man next morning he must not be wondering who is this person beside him….. after makeup etc come off…
I'd say it's more about being true to yourself rather than worrying about what someone else thinks.

It's true
It's like seeing her through her music
That is a beautiful sentiment.
A singer of super special voice. One of my all time favourite 👍
