That is a lot of NY State not realized. NY State has mountains, lakes, state parks, wine country, apple country, etc. For example, Adirondack State Park is six-million acres in size and offers 46 high peaks.

Yep. I live in Utah and I can agree with the amount of snow. I lost count of how many times I have been up to mid-calf on snow. A couple of times: dealt with a very severely nasty blizzard. Not something I ever want to remember.... It was very bad as I wished I had more warm blankets to be buried in.
I also have slept in below freezing weather. Warm sleepwear helps but I still wished for more warm blankets. I got that cold despite the warm sleepwear. But during the day is welcoming for hot soups, hot dishes, and hot chocolate. A must for anything past a foot is a snowblower.
And yes Andre. Utah is beautiful. The more north you go from the southern area near Arizona, the more often you see snow. The north and south have their own beauties to enjoy. I never fail to be breathless each time I see them.

The things these places had in common were mountains or lakes. Michigan is surrounded by water. This year the snowfall has been lower and the temperatures higher than normal in Michigan and possibly the others as well. But most of the states you mentioned have snow, just maybe not as much on average. I know that in Buffalo, New York they have a great snow removal system where they actually load trucks up with snow and take it to a place that melts it and empties the water into a river. The amount if lake effect snow they get there can be very large.
Snow does look beautiful and I really have enjoyed snowy winters except when I had to drive in it. But then it can be a lot of work and as well as needing to remember how to drive in it. But we used to cross country ski as often as possible and bought the right layering clothes to keep warm.
All of the states have beauty, just in different ways.

I almost always watch to the end of your videos.
Some states don't make the top snowiest lists but they have places (mountains that have higher peaks) that get a lot of snow within their states.
Oregon's Crater Lake (at over 7,000 ft elevation) gets an average of 492 inches of snow each year. (about 12.5 meters)
Even California has higher elevation places that gets a lot of snow.
Lake Tahoe, CA gets an average of 215.4 inches of snow each year at its higher elevations.
Big Bear Lake, about 95 miles from LA has had an average of 58.6 inches of snow each year during the last 30 years.
Mount Lassen, in Northern CA, gets an average of 176 inches a year (from 1930 to 2017) and in 1983 they got 331 inches of snow.

I lived in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York for 35 years and I encourage you to explore the true beauty that is New York. The Adirondacks are definitely the most scenic area, but there's a lot of beauty to New York, once you leave the smog, garbage and crime of NYC.

Andre, to answer your question, Massachusetts = mass-uh-CHEW-suts, Utah = YOU-taw, and (New) Hampshire = HAMP-sure, named after a county in England.
At around 7:35, during the Winter Carnival footage, the lighted things are ice sculptures.
Utah hosted the Winter Olympics back in 2002. It's also home to 5 national parks--Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Arches, and Capitol Reef. As you brought up, in the summer, it can get quite hot--huge temperature spans between winter and summer, as it is in all of the northern states.
Yes, there's a lot of New York outside of NYC--like about 99%, and 1 famous rural place is Lake Placid, located several hundred miles north of NYC, which hosted the 1980 Winter Olympics in which the USA hockey team beat the Soviet Union, inspiring the movie "Miracle on Ice".
He mispronounced Valdez, AK, as what anyone would expect--val-DEZ. However, it's actually val-DEEZ. This is where the oil tankers come for the oil from the north end of the state on the Arctic Ocean, via the 800-mile long Alaska pipeline.
Don't beat yourself up, Andre. Your channel is new, so you're still in the early stages of learning about the US. Also, truth be told, many lifelong Americans would have a hard time coming up with all 10. You still did well.

I am semi-retired and Door Dash for extra money in rural Oklahoma. A week ago or so, we had a few inches of snow that turned to ice. After several days, it melted on the town streets, but in the rural areas, it was packed ice. I had a delivery out to a very hilly rural area and got trapped in my car between 2 hills. Embarrassed, I contacted the customer and let him know. He came out with his Dodge Ram, 4x4, dually, diesel and pulled me up the hill with no problems. That's why there needs to be big trucks...especially in rural areas!!! I would have been in huge trouble if he didn't have a way to get me out!

    27. Enjoyed your video from MN. Took a trip to Acadia in Maine through Canada and camped at Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire a couple years ago. Gotta admit, although the State Parks in MN (especially the North Shore of Lake Superior) are beautiful, Franconia Notch was probably my favorite State Park from that trip. I bet it may be even more stunning in the winter. Acadia was also beautiful in Maine, and the Lobster rolls in Maine were amazing! A little surprised Utah was on there but not Colorado, Idaho, or Montana, as the mountains there can get a ton of snow. Perhaps because the snow in the mountains don’t melt, there is some sense that they do not get as much a year as some of the East Coast storms in the Appalachian Mountains, though.
By the way, Glacier NP in Montana and Yosemite in California are probably 2 of my favorite NPs, with Grand Tetons and Rocky Mountain NPs in Colorado and Acadia close behind.
