oh wow this takes me back to teen years :))) I was obsessed with that movie, seen it like 50 times hahaha :) Today I find it a bit cheesy but this soundtrack... damn!
Yeah, I'm with you. The movie isn't as good as it was when I was young. But the soundtrack is amazing - in no small part to Jonathan Davis. Considering the book and movie were about Lestat's music career, it was the least the producers could do.

@@simonandrews7224 Huh, The Crow and Dracula 2000 were the first two OSTs that came to mind. Because they not only have this this distinct gothic vibe but also some of the best songs ever created (Pantera - avoid the light on D2K, NIN - Dead Souls on The Crow). And perhaps The Matrix OST, just because of Rob Zombie
I'm 38 and my math teacher in high school would play this, Enya, Lesa Gerrard and the brave heart and gladiator soundtrack. Loooove them all. Even the Lord Of Rings and Hobbit soundtrack. Forgot about the Original Enigma artist as well.
yup. going to see the movie in theatres with a group of friends you didnt realize you'd never have in the future. and this soundtrack makes you think of times you'd thought you would always have
I remember when my mom got me the soundtrack for my 16th birthday along with the Hannibal Lecter book series by Thomas Harris. I watched both movies like a hundred times as a kid and loved them. My dad got me obsessed by Anne Rice when he gave me both of her books "The Mummy or Ramses the Damned" and "Interview With A Vampire". My husband and me listen to the soundtrack a lot, but then it got lost after we had to get a new car and I had to buy another copy I was sad.
None of you would've been invited. Akasha wanted to kill all the men. She blamed them for all the bad things in the world. Dunno what movie Akasha wanted but that was her goal.
I had to come back and listen to this just for the sake of my little nostalgic heart. Im trying to forget about all the world's problems in 2017. Take me back to my childhood!
Now, this is a movie I could get into a remake and follow the true storyline. The acting, soundtrack, and cinematography were really nice. The actors chosen were spot on but follow the story.
While the action of the movie differs from what you can find in the book (and also displeased Anne Rice, the writer), the soundtrack, well... there's nothing like it. Nothing. And it falls perfectly in its place. It's 2021 and I still listen to it. Without this soundtrack it would have been probably just another vampire movie. Thank you for sharing it with us, @ razorbladekiss616, and also thank you for the info on Wikipedia. ;)
This is one of my fav vampire movie out of the bad ones (B ones) if that makes any sense lol I still somehow enjoy it even though it's a bit cheesy or lacking. Soundtrack is still amazing to me and so perfect for a vampire movie! They need to do more soundtracks like this for that deep dark whimsical type horror.
love the movie and the soundtrack so much alot of the music is a perfect description of how i live my life alone in the shadows of other i could relate to alot of the movie too

Same here :) still flying around somewhere in my room. You can say what you want about the movie (I did like it) but the soundtrack was just so damn dark, brooding and hypnotizing. Exactly my mindset when it came out, so yes, I _had_ to buy it, too :)
Ngl if my book series becomes a movie series or show I would want as good as a soundtrack as this movie. The songs would all be about Being cast out, being called a criminal, suicide, remembering the memories, hatred, murder, being unrivalled, being alone, people having your back, mourning, and having opened arms to their death.
They got the music SPOT ON for this film!!!!

Seen this performed live when Jonathan Davis was doing a solo tour. He opened his show with it and did System later that night. Such a great show.
Lyrics
I'm over it
You see I'm falling in the vast abyss
Clouded by memories of the past
At last, I see
I hear it fading
I can't speak it
Or else you will dig my grave
We fear them finding
Always whining
Take my hand now
Be alive
You see I cannot be forsaken
Because I'm not the only one
We walk amongst you
Feeding, raping
Must we hide from everyone
I'm over it
Why can't we be together
Embrace it
Sleeping so long
Taking off the mask
At last, I see
My fear is fading
I can't speak it
Or else you will dig my grave
We fear them finding
Always whining
Take my hand now
Be alive
You see I cannot be forsaken
Because I'm not the only one
We walk amongst you
Feeding, raping
Must we hide from everyone
You see I cannot be forsaken
Because I'm not the only one
We walk amongst you
Feeding, raping
Must we hide from everyone
Everyone

I think it's still one of the best soundtracks for a movie, can't recall any other movie with such a brilliant OST, The Crow, maybe...
Scream also has amazing soundtracks
SUICIDE SQUAD comes in as one of the best ST as well..
Dracula 2000

Jon Davis is amazing he produced the whole album with all the different artists.
Without saying that he wrote/composed a good chunk of the titles in that OST. Love this dude.

one question? -what genre would one consider this? I love the movie and the soundtrack to bits. I wanna find more like this.
Would be simpler to search for the artists themselves. The genre itself seems very hard to define exactly (rock? metal? a subgenre? ...)
I suppose. sounds like a plan, thanks! c:
Amanda Muiser If I could say, I would assume its a mixture of grunge, and progressive/industrial-metal or rock.
gothic music obviously :D
