- Nightmare's English and Japanese voice clips from Soul Calibur III.
The English VA is Patrick Ryan, who doesn't seem to have any other notable voice acting roles.
The Japanese VA is Fumihiko Tachiki, also known as the voice of Don Krieg in One Piece and Lexaeus in the Kingdom Hearts series, amongst other roles.
Soul Calibur III is owned by Bandai Namco Games Inc.

Seriously, why does everyone hate Nightmare's English voice in this game? Patrick Ryan did a decent job as him here. His voice certainly gives off an intimidating impression to me.

I loooove his voice and design, more than II and IV. Because it kinda ads him personality. In IV he's voice sounds much more monstrous and soulless, which ironically it's what he is. So I guess IV voice it's just the one that 100% blends in. Still, for me, this is the bomb.

Am I the only one who hears some kind of accent in his voice? You can hear it when he says "more", "near", "part", etc.
Seychermanium Nightmare is from Brooklyn in this one.
Even though this was the first voice I heard and grew towards, I can see why people prefer SCII. When you listen to both voice back to back, it becomes somewhat apparent that Patrick Ryan is doing an impression of SCII Nightmare (I forgot his name! Sorry!), and when he growls almost every single line, it kinda sounds forced.
That’s not to say I think this voice is bad, mind. I like Patrick’s death cry the most out of all of Nightmare’s iterations, and the lines the really warrant growling sound *wonderful*. You can really appreciate that he’s taking the role seriously in trying to stay consistent with the previous instalment.
