Storytime: How the Norse Love Goddess Nanna Called to Me

- Have you ever had an experience where a god or goddess called to you, or left what seemed to be like signs? Every deity I work with were deities I chose, ones where I started the relationship in some way. But there have been two times where I had an experience that I couldn't explain. Here's one of them - and why I didn't say yes to the relationship.
If you're into astral travel, dream magick, or hedge witchcraft maybe you can relate to this! I'd love to hear your stories below. Norse pagans and heathens, if you have any info you can share about Nanna I would so appreciate it!!

Absolutely loved your story and your sassiness! lol! Funny thing, I used to be dedicated to Inanna, and did some research into Nanna because of the idea that they are, in fact, related. That Inanna "traveled" North through Ishtar, Astarte, Aphrodite and then Nanna. Looking through my old notes (without sources unfortunately) I've written this: "In another myth Nanna travels to Hel, to retrieve her husband Baldr. When she learns that it is not allowed, she decides to stay with Baldr, and only send a piece of embroidery back to Earth." The fact that it mentions embroidery, I thought was very interesting in light of your dream.
I was listening to this video while driving home from work. I looked up and the car in front of me had "Nanna" on the license plate!
I'm glad she wasn't insulted or anything being mistaken for Inanna. Such a beautiful vision! They can be so so draining for me and it can take hours for my body to physically process and come back from that
For real. I think we sometimes really underestimate how much overlap our energy has in fueling our mind/body/spirit
@@breelleinbloom yess and I'm sure the visions are triggering our dopamine and serotonin reserves and you're just so mentally hung over from going through that. A good sign that you astral traveled during your sleep is that your hands will be numb or in pain from our use of energy. Takes a good hour for me to get that to go down and to gain strength in my hands again

Wow, thank you for sharing your experience! I recently purchased a deity reading from a seer and she told me that she picked up on Nanna and Baldr wanting to be my patron and patroness. I was shocked because I thought for sure it would be either Isis or Bast. I don’t really “work” with either of them but I do honor them and give them offerings sometimes. Anyway, I am not sure I am ready to be a Norse practitioner but I have been a little interested in Norse lore since last year.
I wish deities and/or guides would visit me in my dreams 🥺. I have asked but nothing ever happens. Maybe if/when I am ready I will ask Baldr and Nanna.

Thank you for sharing you experience! As a pagan who only recently actually wanted to look into paganism and deities, I've got really interested in Nanna. It's hard to find any information about her and watching this video was really interesting! I have a struggle with finding my first deity to worship as I am of very diverse ancestory and am seeking very varying area's I seek wisdom and guidance in. I feel like Nanna fits many of these. (Joy, Love, The Moon, Peace)
It’s crazy because I just started learning about the Norse goddes
I've had a couple of notable experiences. The biggest one was a vision I had of Madder-Akka (a Finnish mother goddess) - she was blonde and wore a long green gown. She may have connections with a Hindu goddess by a similar name.
I've also had Quan Yin catch my attention with smaller things - beginning with a porcelain ornament of her I found in a thrift store. She even spoke to me once in that "still, small voice" when I was pondering something.
More recently, Freya has been catching my attention again. (I've always been attracted to her, partly because of my Nordic heritage.) I was very interested when a small ornament of St. Lucia called to me in another thrift store... took her home and looked her up - only to find out that she's sometimes associated with Freya as well.
It seems that each one manifests in his/her season and we should be open to surprising connections.

I had Oðinn come to me in a dream recently - he came in the form of a magpie with one blind eye. It was one of the most interesting dreams I've ever had. I soon realised that he was trying to contact me for a lot longer than I thought he had - and in one of those dreams, he came as a raven holding a scroll, but I didn't get to see what the scroll's contents were before I woke up. It's interesting, because he never came to me as a man, or ethereal figure. He's always come to me as corvids. I guess it differs for everyone. But yh, I was winded by the most recent dream. Claircognisance really takes it out of you. 😂

I invoked both Paiman and Lucifer and they came in the forms of dreams. It's crazy when you actually experience it.
I am unsure, but Lucifer may have just been the angel who was left behind and was bad, so he has too or had too through sheer force of will... get it right this time.

I had a similar experience with Cernunnos and I'm slowly learning more about him because of it. I had a dream in which an ancient masculine figure was guiding me through some kind of underworld, showing me my family working through trials of different kinds and I tried to assist in each one while the figure watched. Honestly I thought it was Hades, because of how Grecian it felt. But that felt wrong, plus, the figure was shrouded except for antlers arching above his head. I don't think Hades has stag associations (correct me if I'm wrong). I spent a few days researching who that figure might be, and finally landed on Cernunnos and so much made sense. I kind of think Cernunnos has been a guide for me for a long long time and I just never had the knowledge to name or acknowledge him. I've never told this story to anyone but my partner and my therapist 😅 Hearing your story makes me feel a lot less crazy for making connections. Coming out of that dream felt exactly as you described. Thank you so much for your story ❤️

I had an extremely vivid dream where I felt like I was being reached out to by a goddess but she didn't give me her name and I can't find anything that resonates based on how she looks or the symbolism of the dream
I have a question for all those more familiar with working with these beings-Bastet came to me through a series of events, but I am unfamiliar with paganism, deity worship, only recently deconstructed out of fundamentalist Christianity. But in a modality I practiced learned I had been a devotee of Bastet in a previous incarnation.
My question is, I had a dream where I welcomed Bastet into my home in the form of a black cat. I go to welcome her and pet her, and she bites me three times on my left hand, instead of receiving the petting. I don’t know what to make of this dream or how to integrate worshipping her. In one of your other videos you noted that Bastet likes to be worshipped, and I have picked up on that energy from her as well. It’s a little intense for me. But I do admire her.
Holy wow! I've been watching your channel for a few months now and this video really hit home for me. I find it curious that Odin tapped you and introduced you. I had a similar experience last year of having Odin tap me. It was weird because I could sense all kinds of dark goddesses and it was like Odin was telling me to choose. I knew there were three that I would eventually form relationships with and to date, I am happily working with two of those three. Still, I have heard of other people whom Odin has tapped and introduced to goddesses that would ... benefit (?) that person. Why Odin though, ya know? Lasr year I was doing an active imagination meditation and went to a beautiful place I had been to in the physical world and wanted to revisit. I was wading in a lake and turn around and this woman is standing there with browns and greens and a sort of essence of the forrest, as I approach her the sky turned to night and her clothing and body changed to blues and silvers and she was in light armor, we talked a bit and then after I found out she was Artemis. I am kind of the opposite because I don't know of any ancestral connection I could have to ancient Greece and find it hard to connect to any pantheon outside of Northern Europe. I have been learning more about vibrations and archetypes. I have begun to think that the essence of gods and goddesses is a vibration and that's why many can have commonalities across pantheons. It may be they are each their own entity but they each align with a specific vibration. So perhaps all moon goddess fit the vibration of the moon but some maybe are huntresses while others have interest elsewhere. 🤔

I'm just pointing out that different cultures have different words, and spirits, for the same celestial bodies. Using English phrases backwards to achieve the sound of planetary names is cool, but wouldn't work in, say, Japanese, Xhausa, or Hawaiian. Cultural context is critical to your thesis.
@@breelleinbloom I don't know I only know English but I do know that many of them if not all share the same knowledge of the same gods and goddess and gave them similar sounding names and attributes but they speak of a return of this chosen one, are you familiar with this.
