- Hello guys, in today's video we discussed How can we apply for a TRV/Stamp on your passport after getting Post Graduation Work Permit. It is one of the most important steps you need to take as soon as you get PGWP, because PGWP is just a permit to work it is not a travel document.
So, if you want to travel outside Canada while being on PGWP you will need a TRV for gaining entry back to Canada. Please note that I am not an immigration consultant, I am sharing my own experience through the video to assist you if you are also applying trv by yourself.

i need help with one step, as alongwith my trv i want to apply for my husband’s trv too, what to choose in the options for family members question , as my spouse has already got the extension for his permit but we both are applying trv at the same time, one of the question for it is that what does your family member want to do in canada and another is does your famil member want to restore their status in canada.

If I am still a student doing my second course but applying for my TRV cause I want to visit back home as I came into the country only with a one-year visa stamp, started my second course only after an extended study permit. Should I still select Work or Study in the first question?
Hi Sanaa, you have to select study and your passport will be stamped with Canadian visa with expiry date same as your current extended study permit.
When you apply for work permit, you will again have to apply for TRV.

Why we need to select VISITOR VISA instead of TRANSIT in the IMM5257e form?
A transit visa is only for those passing by CANADA and not staying or visiting. For example, you have to take a transit visa from USA if you are traveling from India to Canada, via USA.

Hi Welmer, Everybody gets a visitor visa when they apply for TRV. If you have a valid work permit, you can keep working. The visitor visa stamp on passport is just for travel.

Hi Sahil, in the education section you can mention your most recent course. Further in the question where they ask 'have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada?' you can describe which course you had initially, duration, field of study, etc.

Hi Jashanpreet, everybody gets the visitor visa stamp when they apply for TRV after PGWP.
