"Ang digmaang nangyayari ngayon Karugtong ng digmaang nagmula pa noon" There are two armies that trace their line back to the Katipunan, and then the Philippine Revolutionary Army that fought against the Americans. One of them does so in name -- their camps and forts are named after heroes like Bonifacio and Del Pilar. But in reality, they've only served the interests of the Americans. The other does so in spirit -- organized during the American period under heavy suppression, fought against the Japanese only to have their war claims denied, and underwent a split. This Hukbalahap (and later HMB) are the great nationalists of our grandfathers. But their leadership wavered, and they lost. But remnants of the HMB who had not lost that nationalist spark reorganized and continues to fight to this day.
actually, one of the ironic things is that most of the actual veterans of the revolution joined either the HUKBALAHAP or ricarte's MAKAPILI rather than join the commonwealth army. the veterans that our current army claim their descent from didn't even want to join them, think about that!
@zvezda4701 please read PSR by Amado Guerrero, Guerrilleros and The Tinio Brigade by Orlino A. Ochosa, and La senda del sacrificio by Jose Alejandrino.
yep, more motivation to stimulate national fervor and culture through music, in our own condition right now, it seems as though we prolly wont get any patriotic music without leftist undertones😢

Too bad the remnants of the HMB refuse to work with their Marxist-Leninist comrades in Soviet Russia and China against American tyranny
