wow, this pedal sounds amazing in every demo i've heard. string definition in spades, and sounds like a killer valve pre-amp very open but perfect cut in mids.

This is one of the better pedals. Some of the others are Dsm humboldt silver linings, The Duelist, the Andy Wood Wampler sig. pedal, the Allan Holdsworth sig. pedal. RJ Since you have demoed so many Amplified Nation amps. does the left side of this pedal in your opinion come really close????

Great Demo RJ, and another Fine Combo Pedal from Crazy Tube Circuits own the Crossfire a Great combo Of The SRV Sound RJ has Demoed it in Passed both He and Pete Thorn did some Demos and had me Hooked TY RJ and Crazy Tube Circuits

Question can you plug this thing into a speaker cabinet and it functions like a quilter etc?
I don’t see why not
On my pedal board I use the SSS /ODS side as amp model and through a Direct Out I can use it as a backup amp, when the Mesa tubes would ever fail me.
And I use that option to play it live. Works great.
The Klon side is my "always on" clean colour & boost pedal.
I have an OD-3, BD-2 and a ST-2 in the loop. A post overdrive/distortion and pre amp GE7 to colour everything the way it seeded. Is seldom on. Im in a happy sound place.

but, you know what, i find out that the more products come out and the more demo on youtube these days. i can't here any 'new' thing of any of them, just something re-re-re-re-re-replica or 'inspired', and some little tweak here and there.

Are you going direct or using an amp?
I've heard him say in some of his live streams that he is plugged into an amp, but the amp is direct imputed using something like a Two Notes load box. So no mic to amp speaker setup. But if this is an amp in a box that may not be the case here.
I don't think it is an actual preamp that you can plug into an effects loop like Kingsley pedals. I believe this is more along the lines of the Cornerstone and Vertex pedals. Preamp Overdrive.

Choose this. This combi you won t have in another way on your board. The Crossfire combination can be had in other and affordable ways and you ll probably allready have a flavour of the Green and Fendery thing lying around somewhere ...
@@MrRFasters I ended up finding a Twimble Simble on ebay and it's doing exactly what I want at the moment. Gonna keep an eye for one of these though. So many great ODs out there these days. 👍

@@MrRFasters yeah...I've always been into the warmer dumbly kinda sound instead of the fuzzy distortion. I did use those back in the 70s and early 80s...I actually had a Foxx Fuzztone :-) Wish I had that today so I could sell it...they go for stupid prices. hehe
Why do so many overdrives sound thin, even the klon. I have a few klones, and never played an original. According to Josh Scott even the klones sound identical to the original. Idk because I never played the original. But to me, for what it’s worth, the klon sounds really thin and kinda lifeless. It must be the transparent thing that does that, or maybe my amp just sucks balz, I’d imagine a klon needs a really decent amp to shine!
Agreed, I think it’s the EQ. Boosting one section of the curve sounds thin unless in a band mix.
Most overdrives are built on the principle of low to medium soft-clipped distortion, a high-pass filter, and an upper-mids boost and are generally intended to push an amp that is at least on the edge of natural breakup. These overdrives will castrate your tone if run into a clean amp.
If you're looking for something that works well with a clean amp, you might consider looking at either overdrives that are marketed as "full range" or "transparent" (e.g., the BOSS Blues Driver, JHS Morning Glory, Okko Twinsonic, EHX Crayon) or even a distortion or fuzz that sounds good at lower gain settings.

@@gitpho, this pedal doesn't sound thin at all. Paired with an Victory V40 deluxe head/212 cab the klon side sounds full, meaty, and at full gain settings all the goods a hard clipping circuit will give you. Paired with the Mid focused Dumble side it gives you all your Mid flavours you can ask for. A klon doesn't suit everybody. Maybe he used a thin sounding IR in his chain,who knows...
Yeah this isn't thin sounding.
Notes are jumping off those guitars with this pedal.

its okay, I just got mine. Its very nice unit. sounds great and all that stuff. lol
Sounded pretty nice with the Strat but the Les Paul sounded unbelievable through this.
Check out Shawn Tubb's demo on it with his strat on the neck position pup....super silky.
Les Paul is OK.
