What a story! Elvis was so kind & generous! He obviously truly, just loved his fans, no matter what!,When this video began , I thought it would be just personal photos of Graceland from an unusual vantage point! But ,the surprise ending was great! For you to actually meet Elvis, be treated like a guest instead of an intruder & then, walk away with a poster ,besides , is just amazing! This is just what Elvis was all about! He was truly a wonderful ,
tolerant ,human being - He treated people the same way that he wanted to be treated! He continued to respect folks,as always, regardless of his "celebrity"-- always with gratitude toward his fans! That is why we love & miss him so! It is one thing, to be extremely talented & universally known & admired! It is quite another thing ,to remain a decent human being with love for one's fellow man! , in spite of VIP status ! Elvis' example of how we should always treat each other is stunning! What a great memory to have! Thanks so much for sharing this great story!

I've talked to Ted before, and he told me his story of meeting Elvis. I was blown away and absolutely asked him what Elvis was wearing/how he looked -- and, of course, Ted remembered. If i'm not mistaken I think he said he had on one of his scarves around his neck...don't quote me on that -- maybe Spa Guy can ask Ted and edit this or do a quick follow-up...inquiring minds want to know more specific details than I can remember. :-)

@@jcvancouver I'm hoping Spa Guy does a follow-up with Ted, as I may be mistaken about what Elvis was wearing. The reason I asked Ted, besides the fact that I wanted to know every detail I could without making a total nuisance of myself (ha!)...was I was trying to picture in my head about what year it was, based on what Elvis may have been wearing/how he looked. I don't recall Ted mentioning the exact year when he told us the story in back of Graceland, but from what he said I knew it was after '68 and I believed it to be in the early '70's...as we now know from this video, it was 1973. I'm hopeful we'll get more details from Ted and Spa Guy. I'm sure they both it doesn't matter how small the detail -- we want to know every one. :-)

Awesome video. Loved it. I agree, there needs to be a sign up telling people where to get tickets. And the guy was rude to the guy in the Mustang. Elvis would not have been happy about that. Elvis had a heart of love, kindness and caring. Hard to find people like him. Only my Daddy had a huge caring loving heart. Daddy bought his Mom her first car etc. Daddy was born December 25, 1935. Passed 5 yrs ago and my Mom last year. My sister and I can't wait to visit Graceland some day. Daddy reminds me of Elvis in a certain pic. And one of my brothers used to sing like Elvis for the County School Board for Christmas parties. We all were raised in a Pentecostal home. Daddy a preacher and a Railroader for 44 yrs. Married 60 yrs. Sorry to ramble on. Love all your videos. May God bless you and yours!

Love the story, Elvis was just so gracious to invite them in the front gate after they had climbed the fence. What is even more amazing about it is the fact Elvis wished for more privacy but he didn't let that get in the way. I think Elvis put himself in other people's shoe's when dealing with them. The Presley family didn't put themselve's above anyone else. I so enjoy your video's and learning more about Elvis, I know it's a lot of work but I'm sure you enjoy every minute of it. Thank you so much for sharing with Elvis's fan's, I'm sure there's a lot of people that are grateful to you for sharing.

I'm so excited for this series on Ted, Spa Guy!!...my husband and I met Ted and his friend Ed in March 2017, during the Grand Opening weekend of the new complex. We met them on our tour that day, and struck up a conversation with them. And as we were outside the back of the mansion, EXACTLY where Ted calls the "real back yard", his friend Ed asked Ted to tell me and my husband his story of when he was in college and he and his friend jumped the fence and MET ELVIS!!!!...I was DYING standing there with my husband and with Ted, and Ed as Ted told this story!! I'm sure I was killing him with my detailed questions, as I asked him WHERE Elvis came out of the house and WHAT he was wearing, etc. I hope you do a follow-up to this video, Spa Guy...'cause I believe Ted told me Elvis had on one of the scarves he used to wear around his neck (not concert scarf, but regular daily wear scarves), but I can't quite remember all the details. I think I was just so blown away by Ted's story. My husband and I met up with Ted and Ed again over in the new complex later that day or the next day -- Ted went out to his car and brought his scrapbook showing some of his collection. All I can say is WOW!!!...Ted and Ed were the nicest, most down to earth guys, and we were thrilled to have met them and spend some time with them...of course, Ted's story of meeting Elvis was mind blowing!!! We've seen them a few times since from afar during Elvis Week (usually at the auction)...hope to catch up with them again maybe during Elvis Week again this year. Thanks again for this great video, Spa Guy!! Please give Ted our best!

This is exactly what UA-cam was made for. This 20 minutes or so was better than some television shows I've seen from Hollywood studios. I'm not sure if you can call this a documentary but my God, what a great story. Thank you for not only telling it but retracing the steps along the way. It really put us back into that era. It was also kind of strange to realize there is just a typical neighborhood behind Graceland. Never would have guessed that.

I can only imagine how their hearts were pumping and blood flowing knowing they were caught, but then actually seeing Elvis himself coming out of the house and walking over to talk to them and then 'introducing himself' as Elvis Presley, as recognizable as Mickey Mouse in the four corners of the planet no less, I had heard of other stories where Elvis would do this when meeting people for the first time and I think this speaks a lot to Elvis's character being as polite as he was, and what a memory for Ted! Did you hear the story about the young girl swimming in Elvis pool? The body guards saw a young girl swimming in Elvis pool so he went to tell Elvis. Elvis went out to talk to her . Sonny And Red told this story one day in a story telling tine. Elvis gave her a towel and asked her if she wanted a drink so he sent Red to get her a drink. He talked to her. She said she just wanted to swim in Elvis pool. So Elvis told her we can see you on the cameras so if she wanted anything else to wave. She swam for a while. Elvis said goodbye to her and went back inside. Then Sonny said she got out of the pool and wrapped in the towel Elvis had given her. She waved at the cameras and walked back down the drive and left. I have forgotten what they said about her how she got in. Not sure they knew. Elvis didn’t fuss at people. He was so nice. But she took the towel Elvis had given her.

Thank you so much for showing this video. Just shows how gracious Elvis was. I always figured Graceland wasn't as they depict as spotless. Elvis enjoyed his toys and cars and he lived in Graceland, it wasn't just a show piece
My gosh, to have met Elvis that way must have been such a thrill. God Bless you guys for caring about Elvis.
Yes that guard was rude to those fans that were trying to go through the gates to get tickets.
I'm sure Elvis wouldn't be happy with how they are treating the fans. I'm sure it is eventually going to effect the business, but we will never stop admiring our greatest entertainer and humanitarian...... Which some of these workers could take some lessons from.
They need to remember we are paying their wages and Elvis's generosity most certainly isn't being followed through with in these workers.
I have read in different videos how unhappy fans were with how they were treated.
