1001 Paintings looks like great browsing and Men's Adventures is a hoot. What an eclectic collection. I may have to steal this idea and show the art books at my house!
Really enjoyed this. You have a nice collection. The Edgar Allen Poe and the Georgia O'Keefe are great. The images in Men's Adventures are so much fun. Thanks for sharing.
God, I wish I had bought a copy of Man after Man when it came out. I don't even want to know how much it costs. Now that, my friend, is a treasure. I remember stumbling upon it in a library, enthralled by it. Cheers.
I shall have to browse my art shelf for inspiration. I did read an art book on Renoir, but much as I loved the illustrations, I found the text quite dry and academic and not very engaging for the casual reader.
Greg, I am with your wife in being a fan of O’Keeffe’s work. Heather, I am thrilled when I encounter one of her paintings in the wild, so you can imagine my excitement on the day I visited the Georgia O’Keeffe museum in Santa Fe shortly after it opened in 1997.

Wonderful collection, Greg! The men’s adventure covers absolutely are art. I really enjoyed this video!
@@BookChatWithPat8668 Thanks Pat. I love it that so many people agree that men’s adventure covers can be art.
@@anotherbibliophilereads I’m fascinated by pulp art on magazines and paperback books as well. Some of it is extraordinary.
This is such an exciting read-a-thon, I'm really enjoying discovering what BookTubers have done with it, a brilliant concept - thank you!
That 1001 book is so awesome 🖼️ Dang.. all of those are pretty dang cool, Greg haha! Excellent video

Way late to this video; thanks for the interesting art book tour!
I agree: those pulpy magazine covers are works of art. Does your book talk about the artists?
Great collection. The 1001 book looks like fun!

@@unstopitable I just looked up Man After Man. Egads! After Man: A Zoology of the Future is more reasonable.
@@anotherbibliophilereads Yeah, you've got quite a collector's item there.I'll take a gander at Zoology. Your edition looks pretty pristine.

Cool collection, not much into art but I do love cover art from the older books, the vintage, pulps that sort of thing.
@@StormReads The art on men’s adventure magazines was so amazing.
Yay for the Georgia O'Keefe paintings - have you ever seen them in the wild? The scale is supposed to be immense.
@@heathergregg9975 I don’t think I have seen an authentic Georgia O’Keefe. At least not a major painting.

I love O’Keefe too-and am so thrilled you got to go to Santa Fe!
@@HannahsBooks I attended a writing workshop at Ghost Ranch in 2003. That was pretty exciting too.
@@lindysmagpiereads Amazing!
Interesting selections Greg. Im going to try and see if i can find some science illustators for this even such as Haeckel or Maria Merian
@@TriumphalReads There is a whole world of fantastic science illustrations. That would be very interesting.
