I bake the birthday cakes and my husband decorates them. He’s like Ace of cakes! People always ask if they can hire him. Some have offered $1,000. He says, “no sorry, I only make them for my kids. I want them to feel special because my mom did that for me.”

You guys are so sweet. I just have to say I’m a postpartum anxious mess, and I have to literally force myself to get going sometimes because I’m so sleep deprived and have hashimotos disease. It takes a lot of pep talks to myself- I promise, you’re all doing amazing as well.

Your party decorating game is on point! You inspired me with your daughters ballerina party and I brought and put up the balloon arch. It looks great! It is still up since January 25th. Thanks for all the helpful tips. One of these days I will try to make my own cake!

You inspired me a few years back to make my kids birthday cakes. I hate baking too but I’ve really grown to love surprising my girls with their cakes each year. I feel like each year I get better and more creative with it, thanks to Pinterest and UA-cam. It’s become one of my favorite new traditions!
Every year that we watch you pull together your kids' parties, I'm so amazed at all the stuff you do to make it special with all your home made touches. Even now with a two month old infant and every excuse to buy the cake or cupcakes from store, you still made themself so sweet Tanner would know how special he is. I love your positive attitude about baking! Your little ones will not care if the cake is made from a box mix. I have made beautiful cakes for my granddaughter from scratch. The pictures were beautiful but no one really knows cares how it looks. In the end it is about the joy any cake brings to the birthday recipient.

I did a Miss America themed party for my 6 year old daughter and had all the girls bring “ dress up” clothes to wear. Made a “ runway” with milk grates covered in white sheets and little white balloons for “runway lights”! We drew “ winners” from a hat so everyone got a crown and had “ banners”. The mom’s refused to leave wanting to stay and watch the show!
Tanner will remember this all his life!

To make the icing easier to spread, throw it in the kitchen aid to whip it up! Makes your life so much easier. when the cakes first come out of the oven, take a paper towel and just gently press the full surface of the cake. It’ll help flatten the cakes! 🙌🏻 love these videos! you are a great mother and wife! ❤️

What an awesome party! My baby is turning 19 next month, and you are so right. It goes by so fast....and they do remember the parties and the things that i beat myself up about (the cake that wasn’t just right etc) and he always thought it was perfect and that is how he remembers it. ❤️

Love your birthday party prep videos. You definitely inspire me to do special things on my kids birthdays. We didn’t have a party when the twins turned 1 bc of covid but we just did a cake smash and cute outfit the 4 of us. And now when they turn two years in May I’ll have given birth so we will be a family of 5 and I want to throw them a party even if it’s just our little family.

Make your own fondant! It's super easy marshmallows, powdered sugar a little water and food coloring. It taste much better also! You did great on his cake.

Hi, I’m no baking expert but a small suggestion for icing the cupcakes would be to try a larger nozzle tip on the piping bag perhaps a star tip to make to process a bit quicker. This is just my personal preference but they turned out great!😊
Everything looks great. Very wonderful mom that you are to your be a kids. Also I am a grandma of three boys my first is my step grandson but I love him like crazy, he is 12 and my second is 4, I had done his first birthday with the theme book calls 'Where the wild things Are. It came out great and my newest grandson is turning 1 this Feb 8 and his theme is black and red plaid with black bears since his nickname is Jonah bear . Take and can't wait to see on your time

I did a Toy Story party for my oldest son’s 1st birthday back in 2016! We did the letter blocks too, except I painted mine 😂 It would have been so much easier to use wrapping paper and duck tape! This all turned out great, and it looks like Tanner loved it which is all that matters 💜
Love the party..you did awesome on the cake..My mom used to make our birthday cakes she took cake decorating classes and make cakes for all occasions and sell them..She made my sister and I barbie cake..She'd bake the batter in a aluminum bowl and that's the base of the dress, then she'd go buy a barbie doll and stick it in the cake and use a star tip and decorate the cake using different icing for dress, bodice..they were simply beautiful when finished

I’ve just learned from watching the cooking network (mainly kids baking championship lol) that when doing a layered cake you slice a very thin layer off the top to make it more flat and easier to stack but that cake still looked delicious!! I love love love cupcakes though haha can’t ever go wrong there! Thanks for sharing it turned out amazing! Bet he was so excited! 😊❤️👏🏽

Pro tip - when using box cake, you can make it taste so much better by using milk instead of water, add 1 or 2 extra eggs, add a box of dry pudding mix, and use melted butter instead of oil and double the amount. So if it calls for a half cup of oil, use a full cup of melted butter. Makes a very rich and delicious cake! Great job on the kids parties, love these videos!
When I saw you use the balloon pump I immediately thought to myself, "how have I never bought one of those?" and went to your links and bought one. My daughter's birthday is in 3 weeks and this will be so great!

Honestly your doing a beautiful job with your baking. There is never perfection trust me I been baking for years and no matter how experience I am, I always mess up something till this day. It’s wonderful because the kids don’t see imperfection they see love spent doing it. Tip for fondant you would want to take time slowly smooth from the top all the way around working downwards . It takes a lot of time and patience I promise the smaller portion and slower you work your way down the better it will come out 😊 I started the exact same way but your right decoration and frosting fixes all mistakes 🥰♥️

I use box cake mix instead of homemade when I have a lot to do. My kids still like them. Thank you so much for recommending the balloon arch kit. I also can’t wrap gifts 🤣🤣. The kids costumes are adorable. Happy belated birthday Tanner🎉🎂🎈🎁🎊

I’ve been baking for 10 years now and your technique is definitely there! My only suggestion is to cut off the domes of the cakes and place them facing down on one another. This will help it stay flat. You can also add some plastic drinking straws (3-4) and trim them for stability for taller cakes. The only suggestion for the fondant is to keep lifting and stretching and maybe get one of the smoothers but it’s a hard skill to master!! You killed it for how much you say you’re not a great baker 🥰😘

You really did amazing!! I'm no professional, I have taken the Wilton courses through Michael's, so a few tips they taught us. Do a crumb coat and stick the cake in the fridge/freezer if you're in a rush. It will help the cake firm up make the top layer of frosting smoother. Have a large cup with hot water and once you're done frosting dip your clean spatula in there to smooth the frosting layer, that can help the fondant lay smoother too. I think you did great with the fondant. It's not easy to work with, more of a 'take your time and go slow' kinda thing which can be a pain but I loved how the cake came out!
A while ago I remember when watching a reality baking show that the thing that most people fail to do is mix the ingredients long enuf. So maybe try mixing the ingredients for a lot longer than normal and see if that helps with the bubbles. Just a thought ❤💚💜💙💛

Everything looks amazing! 2 tips...there is a LARGE star tip that will make your frosting cupcakes WAY easier and quicker. And then as far as the cake...just trip the dome off and it will make for a flatter surface to stack! For someone who doesn't bake...you did a fantastic job!

So true about time goes by so fast!! It’s like you put them in kindergarten and in a blink of a eye they are graduating high school and off to college. My boys are 22 and 24 and it seems like it was just yesterday they were just little guys!! Enjoy them cuz they grow up way to fast ❤️
