Aymeric... YOU SO NEED to publish this entire interview. I had the joy of meeting Daevid in California many years ago and his presence left a great impression on me, but there aren't very many recent interviews (from the few years before his death). His books tell a great story, but his words are important. Also, when and if you do put the interview up, kill the music, as it obscures what he says so badly, and what he had to say I think, was very important. Thanks!
I remember that gig, I was 16. Kevin Coyne banging on about "Margery razor blade". Also, Kevin Ayers band and Rory Gallagher. Quite a line-up, and it was free I think. Been a Gong fan ever since, including the new manifestation. I am 67, and there are young'uns out there who groove with this music as I do, because it's just wonderful. Nick
Me and my mates got into Gong in the 80's. My mate Richard bumped into Daevid Allen in a pub in Glastonbury, went up to him and said "I've always loved your music" at which point Daevid Allen just stared at him, blanked him and walked away. We both thought that was quite funny tbh. The wanker! It's just funny.
Great attitude and philosophy from a conscious spirit - one of my favourite musicians and artist/e/s of all time. I give praise to Daevid's musical career. Hey isn't that great , other people think so as well. By the way, his second gong book needs reissuing - someone out there, please.
I was at that concert in Hyde Park. I didn't know it was so traumatic. The bill also featured Kevin Coyne and the mother of the right-wing thug Darius Guppy - the late Shusha Guppy, who sang a Beefheart song (off 'Unconditionally Guaranteed'). Alvin Lee, of Ten Years After, was in the audience. I subsequently saw Gong, with and without Mr Allen, several times and they were always brilliant.

Zeeeeeeerooo. Our travelling friend. Ever coming, yet never arriving...yet.
Good honest marijuana smoking and LSD taking with Gong. Steve Hillage and Daevid Allen are Legends.

Would have been great if you could have actually made out what he was infact saying
I agree the background music is too loud, sorry for that.
