In this particular hand it doesnt really matter because we know opponent thought he was going for value but value owned himself. I.e. he probably had overpair and was waiting for a clean run out. OR he was repping the nuts with the common check/call x 2 then lead river. In regards to reveals, those of us are more interested in hands where hero folds, or even hands where some bizarre shit happens. Fun exciting hands. I was just about to post a comment then I saw this reply. My suspicion after the river lead was that the villain was possibly getting tricky with AA pre flop hoping that the initial raiser would 3-bet, but then post flop got afraid of building the pot in case a 4th spade rolled off

Shout out for the Monarch in Blackhawk. I'm bankroll building so I play the 1/3 games there at least 3 days/week. The 1/3 games are pretty soft, with many players WAYYYY overplaying TPTK. :)
i think the most interesting part of the analysis is the fast roll ... I wouldn't care about finding out what villain has and I'd do everything in my power to keep the fun player at the table!
That's well intentioned and all, and I'll fast roll if I get the slightest hint of hesitation for my opponent, but I at least want to see if it looks like they think they have anything in their eyes or a bluff.
One thing that sometimes makes sense, to see the opponent's hand without it looking like a nit roll, is to call and then wait for them to show while looking concerned they might have you beat. Any time you don't have the nuts (or very close to the nuts), you can play it off like you thought you were good but you were dreading that slightly better hand getting flipped over. And if they just muck, then you know it was a bluff.
Apart from some debates around bet sizing this hand seems one of the most straightforward on this channel. Preflop, flop, turn and river are all completely standard. No way am I raising the river.

The only question on the end is whether to call or raise. I would have leaned towards a min raise since flopped flush over flopped flush is so rare and you're against such a high VPIP splashy player who might call with sets.
Tbh I prefer not having a reveal. Your process and analysis is valid and sound it helps me better knowing I’m not getting a biased dopamine hit. I’m actually learning more know how to apply this to my games sans reveal
so my immediate thought was easiest snap call in the history of poker on the river. but the more i let it marinate the more i think that we're simply never behind here and should strongly be considering a jam. i just dont think most villains at this level are playing the nut flush this way. i would guess 90% are either check-rasing flop or turn. i mean we bet pretty big on turn and villain just called with less than a pot sized bet behind. its the easiest check-jam ever if villain has a flush here. also the river lead strongly suggests villain was waiting for a safe card as opposed to trapping bc if he was slowplaying a better hand he would have probably crai on turn. i hope im not being results oriented bc i know the the results but im just not convinced we're ever losing this hand. i do agree that villain wont have a lot to call us with since his river bet will mostly be bluffs but maybe its occasionally a set or some super random straight or 2 pair that gets stubborn.
Continue to post hands that don't have a reveal. The analysis is the point of your clips, not the result. If not having a reveal actually becomes an issue for your channel, just make up the result, because it doesn't matter, other than to satisfy curiosity.

hand without reveal did make me feel some type a way when i first saw one of those but now i realize that is poker in real life. sometimes you're not gonna get the exact hole cards and get the info you want. information is like a treasure chest in this simulation we live in. we subconsciously want the treasure cause we want to to make ourselves better and level up. but yeah, wanting to bring down your channel for that makes no sense. keep the content coming.
Im jamming this 100% of the time bc fish consistently overvalue hands. I jammed a straight on a paired board yesterday vs fish who called with trips. Vs a good player im only calling but this fish also paid off my flopped straight on 8 9 T two tone board w KK which he min 3bet pre.
Even the fishiest of fish can see a monotone board. If he had a set that he’s just check-called down to the river he’s not then going to suddenly donk the river.
I think i would jam river. If they have a better flush, so be it. Against a player like this that is so fishy, they could have all sets and even QQ/KK. I think i jam here bc i think fish will call off with those holdings at some frequency.

I think in a live setting - call here is better than jam. If you play jam here you are only getting called by an overwhelming majority of better flushes. On occasion - 54s and 87s for 500$ of more value. Not worth imo.
It's honestly probably better for the audience for there to be no reveal; players are horribly results oriented and will judge the entirety of the seminar based upon the reveal. Hero made a good call if it was a bluff, and a bad call if he's shown the nuts.
Doubt this is a snap call. Yes, fun player can have Ax of spades, but also 99/66/33/Aj with spade/78s/JJ/45ss, and I dont think he is folding that for 570/2360.
obviously the whole main goal is the win but more often than not for the little ego's out there just to win is not enough, for those types of players they can actually feel cheated when you don't show because they feel you are denying them of their right to show off how badly they beat you. i've actually seen guys go into a hellmuth type tilt over someone not showing then their losing hand.....

So... I found this hand pretty boring. There are tiny things I could say, like my sizing's would probably have been 100 & 200 on flop and turn respectively. I certainly don't think the sizes hero chose were "wrong". And ever decision point seems obvious to me. So why am I even posting? There are 2 interesting things in this video for me. 1) I know UTG is not our hero or villain, but his play here is awful. There is no hand he could ever have that should open from UTG and fold to a button raise, especially with the SB flatting in between. 2) At the end we hear about one of these "reveal" junkies. Playing GTO all the time doesn't even make theoretical sense. You only make money in poker if your opponents make mistakes! GTO is only correct if all other players also play GTO. But in this case, you shouldn't play poker at all!
GTO is definitely able to exploit mistakes. It just does so in a way that it can’t be counter-exploited. Obviously against a player pool of calling stations GTO would be sub-optimal (it would bluff too often) but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t beat the rake.

Uh, not if the game has a huge format like this one. This game has a 400 bb structure. You don't know what a player's personal bankroll considerations are. A guy could be a literal expert player with a smaller bankroll that buys in for 100 bb.
Unexpected river leads can be tricky. Play the hand back and consider the preflop range of your opponent.

Sometimes I see older folks cold call AK hands cuz they're afraid to 4bet AK in this configuration as well.

You can safely assume any player buying in for less than the table max views themselves as a weaker player.
