@@reneebear3641 he said once that he couldn't play Bleed without it being sloppy so Demiurge is a better option. To be fair, Bleed is one hell of a riff for the right hand.

I remember seeing meshuggah open up for exodus at the roseland theatre in oregon. Their music just put the whole crowd in a trance. It was a glorious thing to see.

I saw them for the first time with TOOL way back on the Lateralus tour. I had never heard Meshuggah at that point and I was completely blown away. Now one of my favorites for sure.

I love that you gave the bass the extra low octave. Always kind of wished they did that too.
I can see the appeal, but I think it works best the way it is. It's weird that the bass in Meshuggah is mid rangey, but if you listen to obZen and specifically "Lethargica", hearing that nasally bass underneath provides a sharpness and aggressiveness that really rounds it up.
The ultra low bass takes the edge off of it and that's what I like about Meshuggah, originally.
@@darkySp Agreed. I strongly dislike the bass being the extra octave down. Didn't know that I would, but I do. All subjective, of course.

just a silly question people covering this song : why do you play the intro with only downstrokes ? When I play the song I alternate pick starting with an upstroke and finishing the second 0 with an upstroke it makes it louder and blends better with the previous one.
Also why play the second part ---10---8--- on the 7th string and awkwardly sliding to the first fret when you get a tighter sound and easier access to the first fret if you play --3--5-- on the 6th string ?

Yeah both Meshuggahs signatures, m80m and FTM have locking nuts and fine tuners.
No wiggly notes, particularly with the super light strings they use
@@matthewpowell2527 just like Mick Thompson’s jackson. I actually particularly like that. Extreme tuning stability with the possibility of tuning down a quarter or half step easily.

Not sure I just left whatever strings it came with on for this video. I've now swapped them out to my usual preference which is 10-56 + 80

How’s the string tension since it’s not multiscale?
I have tons of 8 strings that are not multiscale, it never bothers me
I prefer straight scale to my multi scale, I find it largely unnecessary… also I use DADGAD style tunings so straight scale works better
