Jeff is spot on about what Model 2.5 will be. It will increase the TAM so Tesla can get above 2.0 million cars in 2025 and help maintain Revenue growth in the Auto sector.
Most trucking is done over pre-set, regular routes.

I want to coin a new term in relation to Tesla and the multiple lines of business.

I believe the yield curve is inverted and acting differently due to the large amount of debt in system.
There is a noticeable difference in the past compared to now in the focus of Elon to communicate to the public and institutions and paint the picture of TESLA'S future.
I REALLY REALLY hope that the 2.5 car is a compact SUV...essentially a smaller Model Y...that's a car I would definitely buy. For folk who want an SUV, but a smaller one - Volvo is doing this size/class of EV very, very well - gosh I hope that Tesla does this!
Model Y is pretty small.. a smaller X or cheaper one would sell well.
I am hoping for a hot hatch for the new car!
Issue with semis is the supply of batteries
A sub 30k, ideally sub 25k car is going to be crucial to prevent earnings from collapsing in the interim until FSD is solved. Volume targets on a sub 25k car should be more than all the other models combined. That's how we get to a 5 million+ run rate which is still well short of their initial 20 million target.

I believe the Model Y Juniper is slated to release just after the reveal of the new Model 2.5, because it will be a smaller version of the Model Y and they worry it will take sales from the Y. The Model 2.5 will go on sale a month or 2 after its reveal.
Musk did not say Optimus V3 will be the ready to go product. That is an assumption. We very well could see a V4 before mass production. The V3 may only be used for the 1000+ real world pilot and lessons learned from that testing will drive the design of V4.
Cheaper less powerful motor. Robotaxi does not need and 25K does not need. Doesn't need to be fast.
Possible van. One for work another passenger.
Plus some Robotaxi improvements.
I'm think a major cost savings would be to eliminate the glass roof. Maybe offer a coupe? Whats better than 4 doors? 2 doors.
One trick about saving money is to remove cost without making the product seem cheap or not delivering on what people expect from a Tesla. Maybe your suggest would be a good one that meets these criteria.... but you'd be surprised to see it wouldn't be a "major" cost savings. Some, but not a lot. Now if they make the overall vehicle *smaller*.... save a lot of weight.... THEN you are on the way to major savings. Fewer atoms, smaller battery with similar range.... it's a virtuous cycle.

That was a well-done, reaffirming vote last month that may not affect anything except Elon’s and shareholder enthusiasm. April 29 was the beginning of more China announcements and the company valuation’s upward swing.
