It is, the only level 3 driving system on the market is legal in two states now, and only on select highways...at under 35MPH. They still monitor for eyes to be open and on the road.
Tesla's monitor eyes now, and require hands on the wheel. Back when this police incident happened, they only monitored hands on the wheel. Legally, drivers are 100% responsible for their vehicle when full self driving is driving their cars.
Doing an 8K mile road trip starting next week and can't wait to let my car do all the driving for me while I monitor and listen to podcasts!
