Please consider donating to my fund to transcribe Keith Jarrett's "Osaka, Pt. 1" from The Sun Bear Concerts. I will be making PDFs of each section available as I finish them. More information can be found here: gofund.me/cf065ef8
I just love this channel! When I discovered Jarrett/ Mehldau/ Corea etc. in my teens I never imagined that someday I would be able to get a glimpse into how their music is created. Now I can follow along and even replay some of my favorite tunes. This is just so cool! Thanks for your work, Michael! I have already bought more transcriptions than I will ever be likely to play. I hope you can continue doing this for a very long time.
I am always excited what you are going to transcribe next! Great stuff! One of the tunes I love of Keith Jarrett, is the Jaki Byard tune: Chandra, off his album: At The Deer Head Inn. He goes so “out” on this tune! {Sure you will get to this tune one day!}
Back in the early 70s, I was in college and had developed a keen interest in jazz. My college’s library had a couple of sound proof listening booths and a somewhat sparse jazz collection. Their sparse jazz collection included: Dave Brubeck, Dave Mackay(British jazz pianist), and Ahmad Jamal’s Poinciana album. Most evenings you could find me in one of those sound proof booths listening to those three albums in their entirety. I fell in love with Jamal’s rendition of Poinciana! Before listening to Keith’s version of Poinciana, Jamal’s version was definitely the gold standard. Sorry Jamal(rip), but Keith has dethroned you. Keith is an amazing pianist - and that’s not hyperbole!

Can we get a transcription of the crazy groans next
Can you transcribe Keith's vocal?
You forgot to transcribe my favorite part, the groans.😀
Haha, there are some EPIC groans in this one! I don't know how I missed them! 😂
Detesto il fratello gemello che ci canticchia sopra " ueeeaauuu".

Great solo, still not dethroned the king of piano solos for me...peruciani on home
Sorry guys, nice try Keith, but you peeps must not be familiar with Mr. Ahmad Jamal!!!!
Why compare? The styles are completely different. Ahmad is incredible as well but should no one play his music but him?
@@renakmans3521Ahmad Jamal actually didn't write Poinciana, he did popularize it though and it is definitely identified with him.
@@davidsheriff9274 Oh I should’ve known that:-) thanks for the correction!
Yes always mention the author, writer of the song is not only polite but necessary even just for an educational point of view IMHO
We are aware AND 😊Like this too.
