Paul ....brilliant meaning brother....."I was born a defender, of the hell made for sinners, and did never forget..that is still well equipped.....but quivers:" ..great verse ..spirit filled! Love it
I don’t think I go a day without listening to this at least once or more. The bass drop, beat drop, killer synth loop, guitar riff transition and ending drum solo. There’s nothing better in music right now.
With current events being as they are....this couldn't be anymore perfect. Everyone is scared to die. Let it go. We all have to pass through that door....sooner or later. 😏❤❤❤❤❤❤
This song grooves so freaking hard. The drum fills starting at 4:38 transitioning to that sick beat at 4:46 --- so freaking smooth and probably my favorite part on this whole album. I'm going to miss Darren King so much going forward :\
i agree on those transitions for sure BUT darren is darren and can't be "replaced". hutch is hutch. more traditional. still has great chops. life goes on. darren (MM) used a lot of triggers and tricks to get some sounds. can't discard his talent though by any means bro!.
Oh I agree. Darren is probably a top 5 drummer on the planet in my personal opinion as a drummer myself. Someone like that is irreplaceable. I can't criticize Hutch though, because he's still 100x the drummer I am and if you can even partially fill the shoes of Darren King, you must be pretty freaking good. So I'm not down with all the Hutch hating. I can still love Mutemath in its current iteration, and still love Darren as a drummer (even though I'm kind of angry with him for not giving a decent explanation to the fans). When Greg left after Armistice, I was not concerned. The rhythm section always was the heart and soul of Mutemath from square one. Odd Soul reassured me that they were just as capable without Greg. When I heard that Roy left last spring I was a lot more concerned, but somewhat relieved to hear that he'd stay on and do some recording, just not touring. But this one hit me the hardest. I still have my doubts that they'll survive long without Darren.
could be bro. hard to find that groove again. hutch MAY stay on though. trust me. darren is one of my favs as well. got to work with the band a couple of times at festivals. darren was extremely intense. i swear if we hadn't chalked his drum riser, it would have been in the pit!!. hey, pray for the guys. i'm sure they would appreciate it.
Definitely praying for them. And for some kind of reconciliation if the breakup was messy and/or emotional. From an interview I saw with Paul, it seems like it was kind of tough for him to talk about. In the end, life is way too short to go through it staying angry with your brothers. I only just now heard about the release of Play Dead and Darren's departure, so things are still a bit raw for me haha. Fingers crossed that they'll continue to produce great music for years to come!
If you haven't heard the interview here, you need to. Darren does talk about a lot of stuff that's interesting, including his own reasons for leaving the band. Can't fault him at all after hearing it. Pressure, even if of your own making is awful. audioboom.com/posts/6597343-darren-king-formerly-of-mutemath-currently-of-sucre-premier-of-inside-by-sucre
This is the kind of song you play while cruising around town in your oversized land-yacht. That, or play in the background while livestreaming on Twitch.
This song kicked me in the face. When I got up from recovering, I asked for another kick.
great comment!.

came here after listening to Redecorate by tøp, someone commented the track sounds similar to this song and they're both amazing
I love both songs and didn't notice that. Wow
I love redecorate! Best on the album
Also that would make sense, because Tyler worked with Paul (from mutemath) on Redecorate!
Tøp and Paul Meany from Mutemath have worked on tons of songs together! Basically the whole new Tøp album was produced by Paul 😊
Best song on the album.
maybe. i can't pick one!!.
Don’t know why this band isn’t bigger tbh

"you want to cheat death, but you can't hold your breath forever". what a great line. so true. be ready to meet your maker any second, amen?.
I absolutely love this entire album and every single song in it.

Takes on new meaning as of March 2020.
Holy shit, took me way to long to hear this. I fucking love it
I saw these amazing guys for the first time and they were touring for this album. Sad that they are not making new music.
I'm getting those Earthsuit vibes, for sure. And I dig it!!
Yep. Even the lyrics for this song are like a follow-up for "One Time".
Its cool to see that other people are saying the same thing I thought when I heard this song. Love it!
It's the flow Paul is singing with. Like he's about to drop some rap bars
Amazing!
Paul's favorite to play live off new album.
