If the Jupiter-8 (also Jupiter-3) is well calibrated to the Russian Rangefinder, you usually need to increase the Shim by 0.12mm. Then you need to re-index the aperture ring. The J-8, easy- undo the 3 visible set screws, move the ring, tighten them. The J-3- you need to tap out new holes to the screw heads don;t drag on the inside of the focus mount.
You can easily break down the Chrome J-8 to clean and relube it. Then the focus helical moves like butter! Generally those earlier chrome lenses were a much better build quality. I really enjoyed your second set of photos with the lady in a maxi dress and all the old cars. That set really reminded me of the early 1970s.
My Jupiter 8m, as a current Ukraine seller calls his lens, which matches mine, that arrived on a Kiev 4M yesterday, has a rear barrel that extends a bit. I could not tell if the silver Jupiter you adapted with the Leica to Fuji has that rear barrel.
HEllo everyone.. I’ve recently learned about adapters for vintage lenses and ordered a few,, I’ve been told that ones with Kiev mounts are hard to find adapters for.. . I just ordered one with with contax/kiev mount due to it being so cheap I figured it was worth the risk. ..I believe I’ll need a contax/Kiev to m4/3s adapter? (I have black magic 4k).. any advice would be great thanks…there seems to be a lot of adapters available for it so I don’t know why some people say it’s hard to find or fit..

Do you have a link to a guide to diy this? I think mine back focuses a little.

I’ll have to watch a video on that and try it! Also thanks for the nice comment on the second set!
Thank you. Nice photos and music environment.
you did get a good version of these lenses. the images look really good for the fame they have.
(btw you look like Liam Neeson 😅)
It's a great lens, it's on my Canon P right now.
Incredible value for the $$$
Did you have to adjust it for the P? Thinking about getting one.

I use a Red P one on my Leica IIIF and it's a great lens. I also like to use the Industar-10 not because of it's greatness but it's weird character.
My piano black export version Jupiter 8 is really sharp, but focusing ring is so stiff I sometimes unscrew my lens form m39 adapter :D
Some adapters will increase the problem. Fotasy adapters do not.
this is off topic but what consoles do you still have? i really enjoy your game review videos ^_^
