speaking as a dane volvos was EVERYWHERE back in the day and still are. The estate version is called the vet-mobile because everey country vet used to drive them. likewise the police used amazons and 140s and 240s also the post service and others. It was a very popular vehicle with the public as we share sorta the same climate as Sweden.
"funny story" when my mother was pregnant with me (32 years ago) she was riding in an Vovlo Amazon (late model) on a country road where a tractor had previosuly had an oil spill and they slipped, going off the road and rolled 3 times and nobody was hurt. Thanks to swedish safety engeneering I'm sitting here today drinking schnapps writing this. Yay Vovlo

Ingen omkom. Volvo ye-heey!

Norway actually offered SEK 200mil *and* 10% concession of Oseberg oil field for 40% of the company's *car manufacturing* only (instead of 40% of the whole Volvo since Volvo also has truck manufacturing facility). So the oil concession is not to substitute the money as stated in the video, but to compliment it. Also, SEK 200mil at that time would be equivalent to close to USD 90m instead of USD 80m as stated in the video.
