Let me break it down for those who might consider these for work. The 47s are great for work and leisure but can probably be dressed up (can jeans be dressed up??) more than the others. The 36s are similar to the 47s but are slightly tighter in the seat and could possibly show off your butt more. The 13mwz is the ultimate work jean. Roomie in the seat and tough as nails The 936 is similar to the 13 but being tighter in the seat, in my opinion, makes these a fashion jean for me. Wranglers look great with heritage Red Wing boots.
I usually am a Levi's man. Been wearing them for 45 years. But I decided to try the Wrangler. They are nice looking and built the build quality is like the jeans of the past. Levi's doesn't make them like they used to. I will be ordering more!
I agree 100%! Levi's has sold us out, but Wranglers denim has always been of a much higher quality anyway, so the transition won't be that hard to bear. I do however wish that Levi's would go back 15-20 yrs and bring back their previous quality and fit. I particularly liked the 527 low rise boot cut Jean, but what will be will be. Seeya
Been loyal to Levi's for most of my life. I'm only 28 but in 28 years Levi's have been so inconsistent that I'm surprised I've stuck with them for so long. To get a pair of 501s, I couldn't order online and instead would have to go to whatever store had them, find four or five pair and try them all on. Went to the store and grabbed a pair of the 13MWZ for only $20 from Academy and I'm sold. I'm a slim guy, about 5'7 or so and I like a slim fit without the silliness of slim fit jeans. Not to mention, it's almost impossible to even get 501s over my work boots which kind of contradicts any "working man jeans" claims Levi makes nowadays. Anyway, I followed the instructions, turned my Wranglers inside out and washed them three times back to back, then tumbled dry on a high heat and guess what? Perfect fit, very comfortable, no more bagginess but not skinny. Just a good lookin' pair of jeans. Can't wait to start ruining them, and I've got a feeling these are going to last longer than the two years I got from my last pair of 501s.

Levi's jeans are wildly over rated !! They have been traveling on their name for years, and aren't the same jeans that they were a few years ago. I can buy far less expensive jeans , and get the same fit that Levi's used to brag about . When I was a lot younger , I swore by the Levi's 505 jeans . But, I learned that other makers have the same quality product at a significant;y lower cost . Now , I don't waste my money on a brand that is only a "used to be" . Wrangler jeans have been around since the 1940s ./ I think they have a pretty good handle on what works .
Always worn them 13MWZ since I was a kid and always will! I am 49 now and still the best jeans I have ever worn...unquestionably. So far no "designers" have messed with them and hopefully never will...yeah those ones that try to compete with their "pretty swirly designs" on on the pockets...fake "wearing" etc...just gives me a chuckle every time I see them on folks.

Cowboy Cut jeans are high quality jeans that can stand up to what I put them through. Any other jeans end up ripping or falling apart with how much I use them, but my Wranglers never give me problems. I can wear them on a construction site, while hiking, or riding my horses and never have to worry about them ripping or falling apart on me. Even with constant use I have pairs of these jeans last me upwards of 3 years without any significant issues at all. I need jeans that can keep up with my work and lifestyle and these jeans have withstood the test of time

My go-to Wranglers are the 935 slim boot cut. Heavy weight raw denim, sized like the 936 but with a 9" leg opening for more flare, Also, no rivets anywhere

Been wearing the slim fit cowboy cut for over 20 years in a 32 waist, 38 inseam. My first several pair in the original finish lasted over a decade (with some wear holes and fraying which just made them look better). Riding or pressed for some two-steppin' with my lady, these jeans can't be beat! Hint: my build is called "Texas Toothpick" or tall and lean. If you're an average build or beefy guy, do NOT get the 936 slim fit.
Hey! The 936s are probably tighter because they are aggressively pre washed, while these jeans are all sanforized, they will experience some limited shrink, particularly along all of the stitching, and as a result may be around one inch smaller in each dimension. Normally this shrinkage happens gradually, and the measurements the company uses for their pants are true to size based on the estimated final size. By comparison all of the rigid ones you tested are a bit larger than they will be when you've put them through 10+ wash/dry cycles. Always buy Wranglers true to size (1-2 inches smaller than your body measurement in the waist, no smaller).
Love this video. However, one suggestion: the 13mwz is called rigid denim meaning it's quite stiff and raw. The 936DEN is the equivalent stiff rigid denim and would make for a better comparison. As those do not feel broken in at all LOL.

They are bootcut like the 945s but slimmer through the seat and thigh like the 936 but not quite as tight. Such an elegant silhouette. Wash them once hot and hang dry and after that they fit so nice.

I have been so confused because the photos online being compared is basically useless. I 100% agree, and I wear them with good old brown wide square toes and it looks great.
fun fact: the name 13MWZ comes from the original design using 13 oz denim, and was simply labelled “Men’s With Zipper” clearly this naming convention is vestigial though - you’re not getting 31 or 47 oz denim on the other cuts 😅

Я провёл замеры четырёх отрезков вырезанных из остатков после укорачивания штанин. Каждый отрезок размером 1см х 6см, сложенный 4 раза (4 слоя ткани). Участвовали 4 образца, выпуска 22-го - 24-го года, все риджид. 2 обрезка от 13MWZ разных размеров - 2,7мм. 936DEN - 2,7мм. 47navy - 2,8мм. Только 47MWZ были us fabric, все остальные из неизвестной ткани. То есть практически, толщина ткани одинакова у всех и составляет - 0,7мм.

936 is slim fit so it doesn't have the wider opening at the leg (it's the same as the 13mwz). 935 is slim bootcut and sold as 'Cowboy Cut Rigid Slim Bootcut' (935NAV).
The pair of 936 you showed had less of a break in period possibly because it's been prewashed multiple times to get that fade. Great info. I own 16 pairs (various cuts) and I'm not a cowboy
Looks like Wrangler's got worse in the last 15 or so years. I have 2 pairs that are ones of my favourite but they have names not codes. Roxboro Bootcut and Spencer Slim/Skinny.
they have lots of other jeans in their range, your ones likely just aren’t part of the “cowboy cut” line. yours probably do have a code identifier on their label somewhere though, as well as a name

Thanks for pointing that out. I thought I was getting the 936DEN when I bought these but made a mistake and ended getting the 936GBH.

What mwz would you recommend with Ariat Heritage Roper boots that have pretty wide shaft? I don't want the shaft ti stick out and be noticeable.
945 for the widest leg opening. If that’s too wide then 13mwz, 31mwz and 47MWZ all have the same 8.25” leg opening.
