- I'm working on a new little project - creating a messy mini journal in a fun way without much thinking. This video shows how I'm putting the finishing touches on each page. I hope you'll play along with me and create your own Messy Mini! 😊

I have loved this series. It is so different to how I 'create', and I really need to loosen up, so this has been great to see how fun it is. Amazing what a difference little dabs of gesso etc can make to a page. Cool how you did the cross stitches with the square on the reverse side! Favourite page - the cat striking a pose! Thanks.

This is my second time through this series. It has been a lot of fun both times. Having to stay at home has turned out to be one of the best times ever. No one to break my train of thought when I am playing. I may become a hermit.

@@CatHand That's my plan... I've never put one together though... you said you used shipping tape right? Did you just punch two holes in every folded page and then run the bakers twine though it and tie it in a knot? Did you do a video on how you first created it? I wanted to make one but make the cover out of old denim jeans - I would probably have to put grommets or something and maybe leather if I do.
I also think I need to check Tuesday Morning more often... sounds like you got some good deals there.

Cat, this little book is so fun! I’m wondering if you remember where you bought the black and white wrapping paper on the inside covers? I just love it! I’d like to cover some storage boxes with it for my craft room. Also, I was wondering what types of crafts you do with your grandkids? Mine all live several hours away, and I’d like to try making some fun things to mail them.
Thanks, Linda! That paper was gifted to me a few years ago, and I believe it came from a Tuesday Morning store. Most of my grandchildren have gotten older now, so we don’t art together as much as we used to Lately, (pre-pandemic) we have had some watercolor play and that was enjoyed a lot. Several years ago, I introduced them to the gelli plate and we had a lot of fun together with that. One time, I cut some shapes from scrapbook paper scraps, that, when put together, would make a bird, and my youngest granddaughter (age 6, at the time) enjoyed gluing it together. 😊
