You've changed my mind on pawns and possibly altered my playstyle. I've never thought of pawns as important, but seeing this video has changed my mind. I'll be trying out those tricks sometime!
Thank you so much for this video! I noticed that I’ve been dropping my pawns during mid-game even though I use them so much early-game. I played a couple games and thinking more about pawns made me feel like the genius one expects of a person who plays chess (though I lost on time half the games 😅)
Many mistakes that intermediate often make is that they think chess is about tactic and strategy and completely forget chess is a psychological battle with yourself and your opponent. Sometimes you need to make a silly move to make your opponent lower their guard.
Very important video ! Literaly the most underrated strategy subject. A good thing to add is that the pawn has the lowest value so in general no piece has any interest to take it if it's protected. This is why pawn chains are super solid and define the structures in the position. Another fun fact, but this time way more advanced : Richard Réti, a famous player from the 20th century, considered that the move 1.e4 was probably not the best because pushing the pawn this far made it a weakness. For example in the Petrov or the Berlin, Black ignores the threats on their e5 pawn and counterattack on e4 by Nf6, and then proceed to equalize.
If he takes the pawn, the black king is then forced to defend those pieces. But at some point the black king would have to leave them, so he can stop the passed pawn from promoting. The white king then would take the enemy pawns and then promote the g-file pawn into a queen.
A great saying I've heard before is "If your Bishop and Knight are here, be in fear" Referring to if say the Bishop is on b4 and the Knight is on d4 for example, and it's just about making sure you don't get forked with a pawn in the opening.
A good tip for pawn breaks is to also create double pawns that are isolated. While double pawns in the center is plausible it can do more harm than good if your opponent doesn't have brain damage. Creating double pawns damages the structure severely depending on how good your opponent is with pawns
At last when the pawn reached to the golden line you brought queen but once she is reborn can’t she be starting from the same position when the game was started? Coz if for example if queen able to reborn at the golden line itself any other players can kill her as it will be turn of the opponent?

Haha lol. If Magnus lost then I’d pay cash money to learn pawns.
Magnus is like the Ronaldo of Chess. You don't even need to say if he won, we'll just immediately assume he did

You mentioned something that nobody even speaks about. Thank you!
Stats: 21 moves, 11 pawn pushes, 1 pawn promotion, 1 knight sacrifice, every pawn pushed except h pawn
(There was a error)
Can you do a video about the rest of the pieces?
They are on the way!
Seeing a good pawn structure defending all positions the enemy is attacking gives me a chessgasm.

What if he takes the pawn instead?

I play e4 and still blame it on the opening. Writing down f3 ✍️

4:28 blundered mate in 1 with queen

The Bishop on g3 is protecting, so no mate is possible.
