That was a terrible ejection on Harper. Especially when it was a delayed strike call and out of the zone. And when the game is on the line Thomson puts in Soto? Soto???

Exactly! Bryce can be a prima donna when things don't go his way. The team is more important that you Bryce. Stay in the game and help your team win...period.

Bryce has to know how sensitive these umpires are. Everything is going good for us. We need him in the game.
That's true but asking where did you have it is not aggressive at all. Players have to let the umps know they call a bad pitch. It keeps them in check since MLB won't do it.

He has to definitely show more discipline. Can't lose him in the 1st inning of a game, thereby putting the Phils behind the eight ball that early.
Look at the ump scorecard for Brian Walsh. Quite literally the worst home plate umpire statistically. Least consistent in the mlb, action needs to be taken especially after that weak toss on Bryce. That ejection wasn’t Bryce’s fault. That dude is actually the worst of the worst.

The worse call of many was against Realmuto ball three called and THEN they said he went when he obviously didnt even in real time. Changed the complexion of the at bat with runners on base. I think that really changed the game. First loss in quite a while. We almost take for granted a win. Rockies hung in there
And the call to ring up Kyle before that was also questionable. If you look at Brian Walsh’s umpire scorecard, you will see the worst umpire in Major League Baseball. Dude is actually a joke.

@@the73inchdic3 it’s close. I’d say they can share a spot in my mind as the worst of the worst, but if I had to choose one it’d be angel with how bad some of his calls are. This guy Brian Walsh is literally the least consistent umpire in the league though. So they’re each the worst in their own respects.

why is it ok for umpires to make bad calls and no one say anything about it? If i did a bad job at work i don't expect my bosses or customers to ignore it and act like it's no big deal.
You're absolutely correct! I've been a Phillies fan since 1976. Harper is a great ballplayer but he can be petulant. Grow up man. It's the first inning. You cost us the game and the series. Sometimes you get a close pitch that is a strike and is called a ball. Do you spike your helmet and act like a brat? No, you realize that umps are human. Sometimes they screw up. Just like you sometimes screw up Bryce. Does the rest of the team spike their helmets when you make an error? No, they are pros. Time for you to be one too.

Bryce knows where the line is between getting thrown out or just having a conversation-he just did not give a f$&k-he was like “yeah, I’m not going to let it go guy” then calls him 120 after the game, due to the number on the umps arm 😂

If nobody is paying attention, umpires are the MAJOR DETRACTORS of the game now.
I think they're collectively pissed off about replay, and OFTEN it's proven that umps get it WRONG!!

@@rycheek he did not actually slam it to the ground it was more of a light throw, and it was not during the conversation or have anything to do with the ump
That game had to stick in their craw. The Rockies were obviously on to Alvarado throwing a fast ball on his 1st pitch of an inning, but the bases loaded and one out in the 10th and coming away with nothing had to be somewhat demoralizing.

I’m a Braves fan. But this game was really fun to watch. It was also a true underdog story.

Tovar and Beck looking like they are going to be good contributors for a lowly Rockies franchise. Kris Bryant on the other hand seems completely washed.

Let me state right off the bat: I'm a Phillies fan. That being said, what does the announcer mean when he says, "It doesn't look like it was all that heated."????????? Is it normal to spike your helmet if you're not "heated"? That called strike was just out of the zone, but close enough to get over it. Really...it's the first inning. Grow up Bryce. Stop acting like a petulant prima donna. If he doesn't have a teenage fit and he stays in the game, the Phils win this game and take the series. Grow up Bryce...it's not all about you.

Another smart move by Thomson for throwing Rojas out there instead of Clemens at first.
Coors has the largest area to cover of any outfield in the mlb. Facing a lefty, makes it even more right to go with Rojas. I think they should’ve subbed out merrifield in the 10th instead of Sosa for Clemens or marsh. Other than that another perfectly managed game from rob thom, he’s doing a great job.

That's 3 straight games into extras, but at least 2 of them were Ws. Finally beat the Phillies too! We got swept by them about a month back, so nice work learning from that. Ty Blach is really into starter form, he looked great tonight. Now, if only the bullpen can be this consistent every night. You could see it in the top of the 10th, we want to win these games. Let's make it a good weekend, find a way to win this series! Sell the team. Go Rockies💜🖤

Unbelievable that the Rockies were able to contain an offensively explosive team like the Phillies to just 2 runs. I mean seriously, the Rockies pitching is usually pretty pathetic. The ejection of Harper was ridiculous but he needs to just shut his mouth and stay in the game. He's worthless to his team if he cant play. I love both of these teams and hate to see Philly lose but Im really happy for the Rocks. They earned a good win 💜

Why does Drama Queen Bruce Hooper thinks he is special, slamming his helmet, standing there having a "conversation", taking his time while there is a game to be played. He was a drama queen and always will be a drama queen. Umpiring is already atrocious this season, standing there having a "conversation" is not going to change anything or make his umpiring good, he thinks of himself too much. All the people crying that he was just having a "conversation" should know anybody else would he thrown out as well for that.

You are 100% right man. I'm a Phillies fan and get tired of Harper's drama sometimes. Wanna you ask the ump "Where did you have that one?" It's no big deal. But, when you spike your helmet first, that you're just being a drama queen. Bummed Phillies lost the game, but glad he got ejected. Hopefully he learns to act like a pro and doesn't do something stupid in a game that really matters.

I thought the Ejection was because of the Helmet Spike.
so if a player throws equipment they are supposed to be issued a warning. He threw the helmet and calmly asked him what his strike zone is, since the second called strike was no where near the strike zone and then the ump threw him out, no issued warning, no nothing.
It was literally said in the video, tossing your equipment isn't an ejection it's a fine. He got ejected for what he said and every time somebody spikes eauipment it's fine. If it bounces off the ground and hits the umpire that's an ejection though.

Bryce Harper is like the captain of your squad you can’t be getting yourself thrown out in the first inning after your first at bat these umpires especially this year are not putting up with any arguing whatsoever. There is like a zero tolerance for any arguing balls and strikes so even a conversation as innocently looking as this one is grounds for an ejection, you can’t have your star player getting thrown out in the first inning over one bad called strike
