It’s time to stop giving these so called influencers a free trip. Have been travelling to Singapore since the late 80’s, seen many changes but the nature is still there, the cheap meals are still there. Just do some research and go explore beyond the Marina Bay precinct.
Singapore is a city state, so it hasn't got sprawling natural scenary but for a city it's surprisingly green with lots of parks and plants everywhere. She mustn't have been to any of the hawker centers, where delicious for value is guaranteed! Fashion, technology, art, history and culture are everywhere in abundance.
This video is a big shock to me. I’ve been there just for an quick stop over on the way home from honeymoon and we fell in love with Singapore ❤ Best place on Earth to us 😊 We spent more than 2 week in Bali but that was a waste of time of we compare with Singapore. We really REEAAALLLY want to go back for a few weeks to enjoy the city/country more. Only downfall for us (Czech ppl) is the price of fly tickets and long flight. But it’s worth it

Even we locals are not taking the heat well lately. 😂 But the saying Singapore's food scene is terrible, and the not knowing what the language is on the plaque and just calling it Singapori. She probably just went to Fullerton and saw the prices and ate sour grapes.
I believe her expectation is to experience Asian mystical exoticness and more connect to nature habitat. She should have went to Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam or Indonesia.

Last year I did a semester-long exchange program to Singapore. Maybe it was being an exchange student or the return to "normalcy" after the pandemic but there was not one day that being in Singapore was boring. At least once a week I would go out and explore a new part of the country. Traffic was almost non existent, especially compared to KL and Bangkok when I visited there.
I totally agree with you. There is so much to see and do in Singapore. Just watch all of the UA-cam videos and articles about Singapore. Whatever your interest you can find it in Singapore.
Just like any major city in the world, you need money to have fun. Asia is no different. The longer you stay=more money. Foreigners dont know too much about asia except for countries like thailand, bali, etc. They think they can have the same lifestyle when traveling cities like tokyo or seoul and tend to blame the countries instead of themselves.
I just returned from my first visit to Singapore. Singapore exceeded my already high expectations. I find it amazing how many people go to Singapore but seem to not know anything about it's remarkable history and achievements. IMO it's the best modern country/city in the world. The planning is exceptional. So is the coordinated mix of new and old and the restoration of old architecture- Chinese, Malaysian, British, Peranakan, etc. I notice people only talk about how expensive it is, yet we stayed at a very reasonably priced new hotel and ate at Hawker Centres. Yes some hotels and restaurants are expensive but no one is forcing you to go to them. The cost of new taxis are less than half the cost charged in Canada. No nature? Huh? There are 20 nature parks and reserves in Singapore. I also had a 100 minute massage for only 85 Singapore $. that's only $62 USD.
@@cherryvanilla8400 Where in a major city in the western world can a person get a 100 minute massage for only $62 USD? Yes Singapore is perfect for me. It's the best run place in the world as an incredible amount of thought is put into every major decision that is made regarding infrastructure, livability, tackling climate change, providing more water, sourcing food, focusing on high value private and government business opportunities, education, health care, beauty, things to do that are free, reducing carbon emissions by controlling the number of cars/vehicles, safety and tolerance for other ethnic groups/religions, etc. etc. It's too bad I'm 75 and am unable to take advantage of what Singapore has to offer as a model to the rest of the world.
@@cherryvanilla8400 I didn't have a 100 minute massage to pamper myself. I was in Singapore as a tourist and I suffer from stiffness from the top of my thighs to my feet with arthritis and meniscus problems in my knees. With the heat and humidity of Singapore and walking around the first day there my legs gave out and my thighs were burning. In order to get some relief I tried to see physiotherapists but they were booked, so I found a lower cost massage shop in a lower level of a Chinatown shopping centre. I gave a poor husband-less mother who left her children behind in China some income for the day. I'm not rich. The trip to Singapore was a gift from my sister.

Her research she did about Singapore probably wasn't about what to do or see, but which country should she bash so she could get the attention she needs. Just my 2 cents worth, but she still didn't get the followers she wanted. 🤣🤣
Of course Singaporeans will complain about Singapore but defend Singapore first against foreigners complains. It’s a very subjective opinion from the lady who said she does not want to come anymore and all I can say is too bad my country can’t make you happy.
It is ok. We can't please everyone. It is interesting that people in the West are not bother if tourists are not happy with their countries while we are obsessed with wanting to have every tourist rating our country as a good destination to visit. We need to be mature and not be bothered by any negative comments from the tourists.
A lot of countries still have wires dangling on poles. I’m sure Singapore is great but no need to bring other countries down just to prove yours is good. What an unnecessary comment when korea wasn’t even part of the conversation
Me as a SINGAPOREAN Singapore is okay eh even my friend from the US said SG so good so clean... The only thing that is not clean is my neighborhood... 💀
"Everything in SG is so manmade, not natural". I'm hearing lots of such comments lately. I mean, natural landscape is not something that anyone can just ask for and get it right - all the natural landscape kinda of took thousands and millions of years to be formed. And SG is not in the right geographical location to have such natural formation. Therefore, I find it unfair for people to have such complains on SG - almost like criticizing us for not been mother earth's favourite child.
She might be using wrong words or expressions maybe ....maybe shes a very sporty or adventurous lady ...but anyway she already spend money here....dont come again we dont loose anything just for lady like her
Out of context but First few seconds of the video: 'Complaining that locals are very rude' Some locals that actually are super sweet: 'Well but we aren't :(' That one European lady who was cycling on ECP and swore at one of my classmates during a daycamp organised by my secondary school just because one of my other classmates accidentally pressed too hard on the brakes while swerving into the other lane and almost rammed right into the lady, which makes her the one being rude: *'Blud I agree these locals are lunatics'* Don't mind this that's why I said it was out of context
What she said is true though... Even as a Singaporean, I feel the same way. Same reason why I won't visit Dubai. Just an ugly place which is just a playground for the rich. No need to be overly defensive. Not much we can do about it though. We're just unfortunate to be a small island with no beautiful natural features. I don't think she means she expects Singapore to be a quiet backward village, but more so that it's very densely built and populated (as with most modern cities), but we have no suburbs or country. No mountains, no nice beaches, no canyons, no bushlands, no savannahs... And our buildings are so boring and sterile too. Our heritage has been largely eroded. There is no rich and unique culture. Couple that with the fact that as a tropical country, the weather is fucking hot and humid, which is uncomfortable af, makes everyone in a bad mood and dress badly, and many even smell bad. Also, the weather makes it such that even the little green pockets we have such as at parks, people don't really sit and lie on the grass because the grass is shit grass, the soil is muddy, and there are bugs. And our clothes stain way more easily in this humidity. But I must say our food is good though. And of course, it is relatively safe anywhere outside, even for girls late at night. I don't mean to brag, but of the 38 countries I've visited or lived in, only Brunei is a worse place to visit for me. Every other country has been a nicer experience. Not much we can do about most of it, we're just unfortunate to have such geography. Sure, it's not our fault, but that doesn't mean we need to get so overly defensive and delusional. We all know deep inside that this country is small, boring, and soulless, and that's why most of us try to travel overseas as often as we can.
If you are someone who appreciates modern architects like Dubai, then it is one of the best places to explore. Been there a few times but other than that, I wouldn't live there.
@@Tungku66 I think you must have not visited many places outside Singapore... Even our neighbour Malaysia has more beautiful spots and has mountains and nature. Even the culture, heritage and food is better...

@@cornershe After that comment kinda sure that B3 is bought with $ lol
F9 la... Cos never studied this subject. 😂
I agree
Obviously didn't research it properly
Tourists are right..singapore kinda overrated..it's like we pay for expensive price just to see concrete buildings
some comments r sounding pretty bias but I dont blame them tho. Who would not want to defend their own country for it, right?
For me one day enough at Singapore
The tourists have every right to complain
Why do we even care? Do we really want more tourists on our shores? Isn't it too crowded here already?
Then you can always pay for the tourist to go home
early birds get the worm :D where is my worm??? >:( scammer
this is singapore scams are everywhere 😭😭
It is ok. We can't please everyone. It is interesting that people in the West are not bother if tourists are not happy with their countries while we are obsessed with wanting to have every tourist rating our country as a good destination to visit.
We need to be mature and not be bothered by any negative comments from the tourists.
Went to Seoul years’ ago they still had wires dangling dangling on poles like Bangkok. We don’t have such problems n less smog pollution.
A lot of countries still have wires dangling on poles. I’m sure Singapore is great but no need to bring other countries down just to prove yours is good. What an unnecessary comment when korea wasn’t even part of the conversation
Guess she didn't see Central Catchment, Bukit Timah Hill or Sungei Buloh eh? Her loss 🤭
Me as a SINGAPOREAN Singapore is okay eh even my friend from the US said SG so good so clean...
The only thing that is not clean is my neighborhood... 💀
so far all these bloggers are backpackers..with low budgets..they would love Vietnam,Cambodia 😅
Maybe she expected some like Bali or Boracay.
Beauty to each eye, if she don't appreciate it, so be it. May be she is trying to catch attention, leave it, why give her?
it's likely engagement bait... and it worked

May be she think SG looks like Ubin or may be SG too expensive for her (on money) then stay home don't travel 😂
The only part I dont agree with is the food part lol
She might be using wrong words or expressions maybe ....maybe shes a very sporty or adventurous lady ...but anyway she already spend money here....dont come again we dont loose anything just for lady like her
Traffic ok
Who ask her come back? Pls own up.
Luckily angmo, not malaysian lian pang say it hor. Why take it so seriously? Malaysians can't be bothered and still get 29m tourists last year.
i laughed in singapori at this video
Out of context but
First few seconds of the video: 'Complaining that locals are very rude'
Some locals that actually are super sweet: 'Well but we aren't :('
That one European lady who was cycling on ECP and swore at one of my classmates during a daycamp organised by my secondary school just because one of my other classmates accidentally pressed too hard on the brakes while swerving into the other lane and almost rammed right into the lady, which makes her the one being rude: *'Blud I agree these locals are lunatics'*
Don't mind this that's why I said it was out of context
Locals like to stare. I don't know for what. Stare and stare
It's truth, Singapore really boring. Sorry to say that, I totally agree with what foreigner say about us. We are too entitle.
I think you have not visit many places in Singapore…
@@Tungku66 I think you must have not visited many places outside Singapore... Even our neighbour Malaysia has more beautiful spots and has mountains and nature. Even the culture, heritage and food is better...
So true. I've visited everything here in Singapore. There's nothing left to do in Singapore and I'm a singaporean
@@cherryvanilla8400 I find that people who say this usually have not much imagination. Or are just being hyperbolic on purpose. Really? Absolutely nothing left to do? Have you played canoe polo in Pandan Reservoir? Gone wakeboarding off the mainland? Hiked a little bit off trail? Took a weaving class? Did a historic walking tour of the weird little historic gems in everyday places? Singapore is like any other city. The time you have here is whatever you make of it. And if you like it enough, you'll find things to do.
No traffic?… caaannn.. we have!
Sleepy fishing village houses on stilts by the river…. Caaaann!.. we also have!
Not many tall buildings and crowded places? … caaaan!
Want to go jungle trekking? See monkeys? We have!!
We also got what!
Sounds like she in the wrong place leh…
she must be looking for Brunei 😂😂😂😂 no boring right?
This tourist just wants to see problems 🤣
I believed she is a singer...not popular though
Actually true, as Malaysian I'm notice there Notting to explore 😅😂😂😂
Most probably you are busy working.
Indonesia topped the ranking for the most amount of tourists to Singapore at 2.3 million, followed by China and Malaysia at 1.4 million and 1.1 million respectively.
How to trigger happiest people in Asia. lol.
You sure about that?
Not everyone likes the kinds of food that hawker centres offer as much as one might think.
fair, but she wants cheap? I can get nice cai fan for $3 from the coffee shop near my hse. I'd like to ask her what she can get with $3 from her home country..probably trash fast food..
@@jen5138 if it is food you don't like and it is cheap it won't make a difference.
And if the food you like is expensive then, well, it is expensive. Comparing to Chai Peng won't matter if all you like is Fish and Chips for example.
First time traveler will be amazed by Singapore. Stay longer you will find the place boring.
I mean even as a Malaysian I agree with her, what's fun to do in Sg la?
Indonesia topped the ranking for the most amount of tourists to Singapore at 2.3 million, followed by China and Malaysia at 1.4 million and 1.1 million respectively.
I agree with her that Singapore is boring and expensive but why did she come here for the "nature"?! Shoulda done some research before flying over lmao. About food... yeah it's been on a decline for the past 2 decades but prices keep going up. 90% of the time, food raving food reviews are so disappointing.
I will never visit Sg. I stay in Sg close to 80 years. From kampongs to squatters enclaves, from stinky rivers and canals to new reservoir barrages etc. Visit HDB living styles, Food courts, kopi tiams, schools, universities etc. Remember to carry a brolly for rain and sunshade. Expensive but Sg was created for you from nothing. Selamat!
Singapore is one of the worst city to stay in. Its hot, overcrowded and no.1 expensive in the world. Even more expensive then new york city. And the minimum wages is one of the lowest in the world. Dont ever come here. Worst place to live in.
Disgusting comment 😡
