I'm in the situation and occupation, and at 51 I now know why I've struggled all my life. I've been to my GP and seen a specialist nurse and I was asked to complete a neurodiversity screener which showed high traits in Autism and ADHD + others. I am now deciding whether to go through an official diagnosis. 👍

      Same as me
I’ve been waiting since 2018 for my formal assignment
However you can research and put into place strategies that will help you
You can say your autistic if it helps you and others to understand you
      There are many self diagnosed
To me it’s clear from the research I’ve done and what the docs said

Most people in most jobs have an escape mode when workplace stress gets to them. They can go off to grab a coffee, visit another area of their works, maybe even just take a two minute walk, or some other distraction. But you bus drivers have no such luxury and have to sit it out until the end of your journey, despite all that is going on around you. Little wonder that on your day off you just feel like chilling out on your own. Nothing wrong with that at all, but try to at least get in a 20 minute brisk walk, it can be very therapeutic. Thanks for sharing your experiences, I'm sure we can all relate to it. We are creatures of habit, and most of us feel more settled with a routine.

Thank you I agree most people feel pressures and have there escape modes
It came to my attention that some of my viewers have special needs many of those may well have autism
So I decided to create a playlist of videos sharing my own experiences
In the hope to raise awareness to Neurotypical of some of the invisible struggles neurodivergent people face on a daily basis
And also to show that just because you’re neurodivergent doesn’t mean you can’t have a life but that you just need to find ways around those struggles
Also to let people who know me know why I am the way I am
My hope is that making these videos we can make life better for everyone
It was quite a big decision to make these videos and open up publicly

Luckily I've stopped having meltdowns in the last year, they used to happen every few months until I was 14. But when I started drinking I found out that's when the meltdowns happened. I used to end up having to be restrained from hitting things or myself and I was a unintelligible mess. Luckily this hasn't happened for over a year now.

I’m glad to hear you’ve not had a meltdown for a while
Looking back to my younger years I could be extremely aggressive thankfully I’ve got that aggression under control now
Looking back it all makes sense now
      Now meltdowns take other forms
