Julie you are genius with lamp clean trick! Love your channel so much! I use thrifted dishes under my candles too. Really makes them a show piece with just that little extra.
I love your videos. I just found your channel recently but have gone back and i think I've watched them all, some more then once. I've started collecting small plates to stack. Also my mom had alot of old books and I'm using them as risers, too . Thank you for all your ideas and tips. I hit the "bell" so i hope I'm getting all your videos.
$12.99 is only a good deal at a thrift store if the item is Tiffany! ;) I love the little oval ironstone pieces. I use them by my sinks for bar soap, sponges, scrubbers and things like that.
The sewing box would have made a great find for your jewelry. I loved the white wicker handbag. I enjoy watching you shop in the videos. You always put your finds in your home so nicely.
I just love watching your thrift and styling decor videos. I like that you are thrifting for yourself and not resale. Your home is so lovely. It was nice to see the family with you and the cute little wee one. A nice day was had by all im sure. I am going to now look for thoes little platters. You got me hooked. There are so many ways to style and use them. A nice haul indeed. Take care and thrift on. ❤❤❤❤ Deana
Helpful hint! When cleaning dusting, not dirty, or stained lampshades or even stuffed animals, you can use cornstarch and a fluffy, clean paint brush or make up brush.
Gorgeous buys! Can’t believe how you’re able to wash a shade ! Looks great on lamp( love lamp) the wall plates are so pretty. Your office looks great ! I love it! Love j Jill dress. Bathroom is so sweet , Julie! Oh yes…great idea fir spoon rest! Love the dish stack !!!! You have inspired me to ‘go looking’ !! Have a great week …bless you and your sweet family …thanks for this video ❤xx
I love the Homer Laughlin oval plates. You have such good ideas for all your items. I love how you have the HL platters hung in your kitchen. I wish I could do that, but my cabinets go to the ceiling. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! ❤
The 3 mirror item looks like something you'd see in a shoe store on the floor back in the day to look at shoes you tried on or it could just be a vanity mirror. Just a thought.
Good morning, Julie. I am in search of a couple of Willow Tree at the Thrift store or the place that we go at the Rink to help the Cancer patients. My husband, our Genz daughter and I have been decluttering and organizing the house. We have donated items too. This past Christmas we bought a paper shredder at BJS club I love putting junk mail and bills that are pay through it. The sound makes me happy. I have it next to my computer chair. I have a pretty sawing basket and on top are bears I keep my sawing items in there. I recently receive needles that I purchased at Amazon. The Trinket tray is beautiful and looks so delicate. The little plate under the candle, the lamp and shade look pretty on your computer table. The Oxy Clean did its job of getting the stain out of the shade. Blessings.💖💞💖
I have shades very much like that one. It would not have occurred to me that it's OK to get them wet! I use a lint roller on them periodically to dust them off and that helps. They probably could use a better cleaning, though.
Hi my grandma used those oval little platters as bone holders on the table I remember after a fried chicken meal cleaning the table and seeing who ate the most chicken.
I think that thing you opened up made of brass and glass was for a fireplace - also that toast holder from England, my parents were from England and we had one but only ever used it for mail and letters....LOL
I absolutely love the flooring that matches your current floors the best! Your bunnies look so cute & OMGSH, your paper plates are beautiful! You gave me ideas by using the plates. 😃 I usually dont care for butcher block counters, but that one is perfect for your island. ❤ I know you want to paint your cupboards that beautiful green, I love the color, yet it seems like it may make your pretty & bright kitchen too dark. I think the green will be spectacular on your built-in entertainment center. It will match your island with the green with stained wood accents! I love your ideas. Thank you for always sharing! Blessings Always 😇
Ohh ! i found so many things I would love to have had. Maybe I could move to your area.😃 Thrifting is not so good here in southern Illinois. Maybe that's why I love your videos so much.
You girls need to start now having the men to go once a week to the thrift stores to hunt for mother's day items. Walk them all around your house showing them the things you all like to collect. Just like the little white restaurant dishes you find. Take them outside and show what you put flowers in. Show them the little McCoy planters our grandmother's use to buy. Little animal figurines like rabbits, birds, etc. prints of animals, plants, flowers, scenery, old barns or farm machinery, fruit, trees, country dirt road. Show them wooden boxes, baskets, candle holders, embroidery pillowcases, old tablecloths, little table scarves, crochet, quilts, brass, crock's, cast iron, ironstone. Pretty china cups/ saucers to pour a candle in, baskets, old silverware or utensils with wooden handles, oil lamps, cook books, sugar bowl/ creamer, pitchers, cutting boards, lamps, potted plants. They could have several things found by mother's day without the pressure of trying to find something good.
I found 2 of the Homer Lauglin dishes too..I paid 98 cents for each..I love them too. I went to a j.jill store in Virginia with my daughter...she said always go to the back for the clearance racks. Take care
Hi hun mary from Ireland just watching all your videos shattered my wrist and fingers was going mad with the pain can't do much as Its my right hand so you have kepted me company never begin thrifting as no stores here but I must say thank you and family for getting me through the last few days xx
I love your channel! Have been watching a few years now. I have gotten inspiration from you! I have been thrifting small plates and saucers for my sponge and scrub daddy to sit on at the sink.
I never thought about hosing down a lampshade. I have done the spot cleaning, but never have just doused it! Thank you! I have learned something new! And I frequently "rehab" counted cross stitch pieces that I pick up in thrift stores or yard sales and they're frequently in very poor condition. Lots of brown spots from not using acid free products when framing. I take them apart and soak them in water and oxyclean for a day or so and you would not believe how it takes out those stains!
Hi Julie, your office is so lovely. I must say though, I really love your new lamp and that wee dish in your guest bathroom is, both are gorgeous. In fact I love EVERYTHING. ❤❤❤
I learned about the oval dishes from you. I use them as a spoon rest like you showed us. They are one of my favorite thrift finds. I am on the look for more but haven’t found any lately. Thank you for all the great ideas. I’ve learned so much from you!
With all the rain California has had, my weeds are waving at me, so I finally had nice enough weather to get out and start tackling a monumental task today...sigh!
My thought on what the standing tri fold mirror is ...one that used to be in shoe stores so you could see what your choice of shoe looked on your feet.
I found a brass lamp at a thrift shop when I lived in Houston. It was crusty then, like 30 yrs ago. It had a key to turn on near bulb & a switch at the base. All the base was filigreed. I pd $1.25 & a lady offered me $50 if I would give it to her. It still sits on my bedside table. It has so much patina now it almost doesn't look like brass.
Use an egg shell finish not a high seen, the egg shell finish will soften he room and not show the imperfections of the wall, you will love it once you try it.
I have never thought about using Oxiclean on a lampshade! Thanks for sharing! Great haul. I hit a huge church yard sale this morning! Good stuff! Enjoy your weekend!
Hi Julie! I couldn't believe it when I saw those Willow Wood figurines. Those things are MIGHTY expensive in gift shops. I'm surprised that someone would donate them. I love your ideas on the little butter pat dishes. Btw I follow the "think about it in the buggy" rule religiously 😊. You have a great day and I love that dress ❤!
Hey Julie, love the dress, I recently thrifted and painted a lamp shade for an ugly light in my kitchen, I love it. Tomorrow I will be cleaning a different thrifted shade for my bedroom 🌸
Your lil oval HL plates are awesome! And the lil saucers under your candle are so sweet. When I find things I like that are stained ( I prefer unstained), sometimes it on Y takes soaking them in hydrogen peroxide to take the stain out, other times I’ve had to soak them hydrogen peroxide for three days, set in the sun and magic, the stains are gone.
I’m done with my spring cleaning, we painted our trim and replaced the doors so I did a lot of cleaning, im always taking my drop cloth curtains down and put in dryer to air out because we have a dog
I think the three Mirrors were to be placed on top of a chest of drawers as a makeup mirror. It looked as though it had some parts that may have been worn out or broken replaced with pasteboard.
When I saw the little plate/saucer, I thought it would be the perfect size to hold a small cup/glass of coffee/milk and a cookie ...like a coaster, with room for a snacky-snack! A coaster with benefits! hahah Love your videos, Julie! Much love from Nova Scotia!
Your voice was in my mind telling me to think about it in the buggy when I was at the thrift store recently. I appreciate the advice! I found a sweet little mama pig and piglets figurine that spoke to me but I couldn’t immediately think of where I would put it in my home. By the end of my shopping trip I noticed the shelf of figurines I grabbed it from was empty, I decided to go ahead and get it since I thought of a few places I could put it. Got home, removed the $4.99 price tag and was shocked to find it was lladro, that’s expensive porcelain ( google lens valued it at $200+) I don’t resell. Every time I look at it I smile! I’m definitely the type that would have left it on the shelf only to go back and find it gone. Thanks you so much for making these videos and sharing your knowledge!
The devil egg tray was Tierra.
Brass lamp and shade cleaned up Marvelously👍
It’s from plantation days…. Floor mirror that allowed the ladies to check if ankles were covered or if there petticoats showed
Oh how interesting!
I would have loved it. With the way you thrift, I'm sure you would have found a mirror or tray to replace the cardboard with.
Love the way you style your home with your finds I try to do some what like you do but far from it
Julie you are genius with lamp clean trick! Love your channel so much! I use thrifted dishes under my candles too. Really makes them a show piece with just that little extra.
The two pieces y’all thought were lamps were head band holders.
You had me at 'pockets!' Women of the world, rise up and demand pockets!
Agreed!
And please make them deep like mens pockets

I kind of regret not getting it 🤔
It is a rare thing to find.

Awe! Thank you!! 😊
$12.99 is only a good deal at a thrift store if the item is Tiffany! ;)

The 3 mirror item looks like something you'd see in a shoe store on the floor back in the day to look at shoes you tried on or it could just be a vanity mirror. Just a thought.
That's the same thought I had, just a guess.
Oh that is so true!
I have a stack of those small Homer Laughlin platters.. love them ❤️❤️

Hi my grandma used those oval little platters as bone holders on the table I remember after a fried chicken meal cleaning the table and seeing who ate the most chicken.

Cute bathroom like the idea of the matches with the matchbox cut up and the little match holder. Thanks for showing how to clean the lamp shade!!
That deviled egg plate is from Tiara they use to do home parties. Their glass ware is usually very good and expensive
It was beautiful! I have the green one.
Those little “platters” were an awesome addition! That brass lamp is pretty spiffy too! Love seeing what you find❤

My thought on what the standing tri fold mirror is ...one that used to be in shoe stores so you could see what your choice of shoe looked on your feet.

The amber egg plate is Tiara. It came in different colors. Amber, green, pink, blue, etc.

The amber depression egg dish goes from 35 to 65 online so beautiful for that money.
That’s awesome!
Yes, It's amber sandwich glass made by Tiara from the 70's. I ❤ it!
I just love your channel 💗🙏 may God continue to Bless you and your channel
Thank you so much!
I think the toast holder would have been cute to hold bills or mail on a desk.
Triple mirror would go on a dressing table or tall dresser
Some of their prices were a bit high. Especially for broken items. Love the dress, it looks comfy.
Thanks for sharing all the tips and tricks Julie.
You are so welcome!
The 12.99 is for a 5 gallon water jug. ❤️👍always a pleasure to watch your videos and family
Thank you! 😊

It amazes me the price on Goodwill when the item was donated. Crazy!
The "creampetal" covered bowl was so pretty. I would have gotten it.😊
