I think you are right about the scenery showing the new hero, because look at how they zoom in on the archer after finding the hammer and she says "so it was sitting right in front of us the whole time?" while looking right at the camera. Basically saying the new hero has been right in front of us the whole time, "sitting" in the middle of the clashoween scenery.
I personally think that new the character is in fact going to be the next hero. Likely going to be called, the Minion King or Minion Prince. My reasoning: 1. They gave the guy full dialogue for his debut. 2. He doesn't seem to be a side character like the goblin builder or trader so he is likely going to be a fighter. 3. The details such as the cape and elongated horns and the chizelled face makes him stand so much out from any minion variant we've seen before (He looks much more important in terms of minion hierarchy)

He has a shovel instead of a hammer and said at the end "all in a days work" maybe he works with the builder somehow or digs up treasure like the sub uncovers treasure in Boom beach.
Anti trap normal troop, goes after and disables one (or more?) traps and then turns into a normal troop that will attack any building. Spell might follow the same mechanics, use in an area and it will reveal big traps and teslas and disable small traps like bombs etc. Hero no idea for now

I don’t get the hype with hammer jam, I already get way too much resources and always have 6 active builders, making the price of upgrading half just makes storages even more full, and don’t change anything at all, I just get to play less to get the resources I need. Wish it was 50% higher upgrade speed instead. Or maybe +25% upgrade speed, -25% upgrade cost
