The raft mod loader DOES NOT have any viruses hidden within it. If you want to collect items in the water near the islands in peace, park your raft a little further away from the area in which you want to collect. The shark always stays near the raft. He might bite you once or twice on your way to the beach. But as soon as you step on the island, he swims back to the raft.
I just kill the shark with a metal spear. If you stab him right as his mouth opens, he cant bite you. 3-4 strafes and he'll die if you get a few stabs in each time. The shark respawn timer is like 5-7 minutes so it's plenty of time to harvest resources in peace. Plus the shark meat is nice
i stopped using normal foundations and instead use triangle foundations because when rotated they can be used to make full square foundations while at the same time needing two shark attacks to destroy one normal foundation because they're really triangle ones. the triangle ones cost 1 wood and 1 plastic and since 1 devided by 2 is still 1 you get all your mats back if u decide to pick it back up while the shark is biting it or mess up a placement.

The stair thing to get onto any island is kinda counter-productive though, wood is the gatekeeping resource, and you just spent like 40 just to get 6 more plank back
at the beginning yes, later on no. gathering wood isnt problem, metal and scrap may be pain is ***. so its always worth to investigate those chests on island.
Another good tip would be if you shoot a shark with an arrow underwater before it hits you, it staggers the attack distance of the shark and he will miss you, you can then pull out a spear and hit him 2-3 times before he cycles his next attack, rinse and repeat and you can kill the shark without taking damage
If the shark starts starts swimming at you, have your spear out and ready for when he opens his mouth..then strikes. It staggers him too
wow! just wanna say thx, even though i was looking for stuff abt the cavern update, i think that you have potential to become a very sucssesfull youtuber, keep at it!
The way you research is to put materials, not blueprints or the actual things, into the research box. I played for 10 hours before i figured that out. Also the radio tower needs 3 antenna's and they only have to be 2 platforms off the ground. I built a giant tower and it kept saying it wasnt high enough. the table with the reciever can be on the same level as the antenna's, it just has to be 3 square away from each i believe.
You can easilly fight the shark with the spear. just hop in the water and stab him in his mouth as he opens it to bite you. you can then get 2 extra stabs at him as he passes by.
You get ingots of metals by placing the raw matering in the smelter. you also get the green goo by putting seaweed in the smelter and explosive powder by putting explosive goo in the smelter.
And finally you get glass by putting sand in the smelter. You get seaweed by harvesting the highlighted bundles on the long seaweed. only some have them. you get explosive goo by killing puffer fish(you'll find them as you get farther in the game) fight them with a bow and arrows. if you get too close it will explode and do mega damage, so fighting with a spear is not possible.
If you have lots of plastic, its actually cheaper wood wise, to destroy a damaged foundation block and rebuild it then to repair it. repairing it will take 2 wood whereas rebuilding it will take 1 wood and one plastic(you get 1 wood and one plastic back by destroying it)
How do i get eggs from bird nests? They come and they let their feathers but i wonder if there exist any weird condition for them to drop some eggs!! This video was so helpful to find huge islands! THX!!

Not sure the foundation thing works for the first engines. Had one mounted on the side of my raft, wheel side out. Obviously, it spanned three tiles in the long axis in one tile. In the short. The outer of the three tiles in the long axis for protected by metal rings. So the shark went for the middle one destroyed it in and I lost the motor. Sucked because it was early game and I had saved up the resources to build it.

Fish! Always fish it’s easy to make a rod and you can pick up trash while fishing if you stand near the edge of your raft!
I have the PC version. I can't figure out how to place items on my raft that I have made. How do you place items
